How many classes do you play

After 4 months of playing WoW, I finally made another character, a Lightforged Paladin, mainly because it has all the other roles my mage doesn’t have.
I’m really curious about how many characters do you guys play, I used class trial on every class and also leveled some (now archived/deleted) but haven’t really started real progression on another before.
Always tought that it will be horrible replaying content, but it’s really fun using different abilities.

I play primarily warrior, rogue, priest and DK but I’d like to get back into alting properly and also play warlock, mage, hunter and druid since I enjoyed playing them in previous expansions + they’re usually culprits for being mega op which makes them even more fun to play.

I am not playing the current expansion, so there’s plenty of time for me to foul around.

Exactly.
Once your main is at certain stage, catching up is daunting, by any alt.
That’s why I prefer to not have a main character.
You always feel like your alt is missing out on what your main already has.

I got all classes in level 50, with the exception of the Warlock class. But I intend to fix that soon as I am leveling one atm.

My main goal atm is to maximize the characters I have, with HoA 80 and legendary cape.

I got at the moment at level 50:

  • Warriors: 3. 2Bes, 1 Orc.
  • Paladin: 1 BE.
  • Death Knight: 1 BE.
  • Hunter: 2 BE, Troll.
  • Shaman: 1 Troll.
  • Druid: 1 Tauren.
  • Rogue: 1 Goblin.
  • Monk: 1 BE.
  • DH: 1 BE.
  • Mage: 1 BE.
  • Priest: 1 Forsaken.
  • Warlock: 1 Orc (currently leveling).

I like to play them all.
But I mostly prefer Hunters and Warriors.

Cheers.

I’ve been playing my Priest exclusively until a month or two ago when I started leveling 3 alts to experience the other Covenant stories.
So:
Night Elf Feral Druid
Gnome Frost Death Knight
Void Elf Subtlety Rogue

Quite enjoying the leveling experience and the alt progression at max level. Some of the back and forth and running around and doing errands is a bit tiresome, but overall I appreciate the constant sense of progression you have as you go from one Renown and campaign chapter to another.

I usually choose a number of alts that correspond to how many characters are required to experience all the story. In Battle for Azeroth I played a Blood Elf Paladin to experience the Horde side of the story, and Legion required one of each class for the Order Halls. And in Shadowlands it’s 4 characters – one for each Covenant. And I like if they’re somewhat themed around them

Cant have alts i SL ( to much work )
So i only play 1 Druid…

I now only keep to a single class which is a fury warrior, although have many others which are low level. Main reason for this is I’m playing other games so may not play for months at a time, and remembering how to play a single char is easier.

I feel like I’ll be doing something similar and end up with more classes, Right now I started the legion campaign and it’s fun having a different story, set of weapons and mount for each class, it really gives replayability. The cloak and HoA doesn’t seem hard to lvl now, visions are pretty easy at 60 and the neck is boosted to 50 when you start Nazjatar.
Honeslty, anything but not Torghast.

By this point I almost maxed all covenants on this character, and I feel like I would run them all on other characters. Since my other char is a paladin, I’d probably run the campaign at least in order to unlock the transmog.

I only play 2 chars at the same time, WHEN the game allows me so, since it was not the case for quite some time during legion and was completely harsh during BFA, so I renounced my traditions. N

Now, I can play 2 chars at the same time. I’ve geared a DK up to 221, a warrior to 221 so now it’s paladin’s turn to get geared since I don’t raid. Next is DH. Of course, once I get back into Mythic progression, I’ll only stick with 2 chars, which are to be determined.

In this expansion? Only 5 because it take too much time to do all nessesary things to get character to heroic item level.

Atm working on

4 x NF (3 done)
4 x Kyrian (3 done)
4 x necro (2 done)
4 x vamp (2 done)

Each coven has leather/mail/cloth/plate class in them for the mogs .Class wise 1 of each plus extra of some here and there.

Mained this lock since BC, but in wotlk and cata I did do some tanking on my DK and icc on enha shaman, benched all but lock and in MoP I did some raids on ww monk but that was it, and got tired of my DH after a few weeks in Legion. While DK was probably the closest I’ve been to rerolling, I just can’t bring myself to play anything else but my warlock.

At the moment I have 5 level 60’s. At the end of BFA, I had 11 level 50’s.

Generally I concentrate on 2 toons at a time (1 main and 1 alt), working on different things. I try to do Callings on all of them (because I love gold!), but with Shadowlands I do tend to find that is alot more time consuming than it was in BFA.

I enjoy playing different classes, mixing it up keeps the game fresh. It’s nice to log in and say “Today I’m going to play Shaman!” and do some Shaman content, when another day I might play my priest or paladin. But with SL that does have it’s drawbacks, I was playing Shaman today thinking of switching from Ele to Enhancement… just for fun, and my immediate realisation was… “oh I’m the wrong covenant”. Sure it doesn’t really matter, but it’s a shame to have the feeling.

Going into 9.1 I’ll probably level up a Hunter, and keep that as an alt. Also, I’ve been missing my warlock a little bit.

I do try the same but i hate and i mean hate with a passion this style of WQ nobody as far as i know wanted this type of quest .
I rather have no gear drop but gold/ap/mats so we get the decent WQ of legion and early BFA .
Apparently they had feed back with players asking for this type of questing i refuse to believe it .
5 stage quests and multi kills is not my type of fun .

That’s it! on BFA (at least after flying was introduced), you could have all Emissaries done across 5 toons in about an hour, giving you time to play other parts of the game. Now I would say at least 50% of my game time is on Callings. Although the monetary reward from doing them is ALOT better than BFA was. So I guess it’s a trade off.

but yeh, these multistage WQ’s are just rubbish and annoying.

I only play priest at a decently high level. I dabble in other classes of course, the second most played class I suppose would be monk. I do have 3 priests at 226-227 ilvl, but everything else is low.

Tip my hat off to you. I can just about manage 2 of each cov. But one for each armour? Count me out!

I have two mains I actively play, which are currently a resto druid and a holy paladin. I used to main druid + VDH, but switched from the tank to the pally. I leveled and am now gearing a prot warrior in preparation for 9.1, might switch the pally to that, but we’ll see.

Other than that, I have 11 other characters at max level, but they’re purely mission table farmers. One of them used to be my gatherer early in the expansion, but it turned out I do not need one, the mission tables supply all my mats without me having to leave my sanctum, so the gatherer became Yet Another Table Farmer™.

In short, I actively play two classes, with a third as a backup, just in case.
