Mainly I play my secondary main but sometimes I log in on my main main.

You can have alts that you play a lot, sure.
But the whole thing about a main, is that it’s your main character.

I only have two, main and a main alt.
Anything else is just considered as: minion in my army of alts.

Those of you who say you can only have one main, pretty please, give me a source of your definition of main. A source that’s a bit more trustable than your head.

Because the wikipedia definition does allow for multiple mains, so does pretty much every dictionary.

Eg, from Merriam-Webster:

“A leader, proponent, or supporter of a cause”. Notice the “A”. Not “The”, “A”. Or “An active participant in an event”. Both allow for multiple protagonists, aka, main characters.

I agree. It would be nice if people in this thread would stick to a reliable definition of the word, instead of their own silly headcanon.

The answer is simple.

One, its your MAIN.
You have ONE Main.
And a bunch of alts.

I have 3 right now, but none of them are super high ilvl… my highest is 208 and lowest 197. I want to play more classes, but I cant right now, too much of a grind for alts imo. Im waiting for 9.1 and hoping there will be better a better/faster catch up for alts implemented.

Indeed, it is. By all definitions, you can have as many mains as you like. See the respectable definitions a few posts above.

No a main is a main and an alt is an alt.
You have One main
Perhaps two, horde main and alliance main

If I can have an ally main and a horde main, I can have a tank main and a healer main. And a DPS main, two, in fact: ranged and melee. And a PvP main. Or a PvP healer, a PvP melee and a PvP caster main! And a cloth main, a leather main, a mail main, a plate main, and so on and so forth.

See the Merriam-Webster definition of a protagonist (main character) slightly above. A story can have multiple main characters, and so can a player.

It is, but I realized in both BfA and now, it is hard to maintain more than 2 mains, I can handle 2.5 mains, not a 3rd, 3rd always gets left aside by time. Unless you have 20 hours playtime daily and have nothing to do it is not easy to deal with 3 mains at one time.
