With Warlocks looking like they will also now get an MS effect in 10.1 through a PVP talent (25% dmg and healing reduction), how many spec now have an MS effect? like 15? out of 27 dps specs? over half? That is far too many. Blizzard should be cutting down the amount of MS effects in the game, not increasing them
should removed from rog feral dh only arms warrior should have it.
I’m ok with Rogue’s having it I think. but over 50% of the DPS specs have it, it makes those specs without it feel bad and limtis their viable comps more
At this point they need to either give all dps an MS effect or accept that non-MS dps will always be behind.
But then, why not just remove MS and increase dampening in arena and include it in BGs?
It makes sense that pure dps like rogue and warrior have an MS, because we are all about upfront killing and dont have any supportive utility like hybrids do. But a warlock? Why?
Rogue no supportive utility? ![]()
We have CC, slows and other disruptive abilities, but we dont carry with us an offheal, a bubble, a shield or any other buffs we can give our friends. The closest we have is some pvp talents if you play outlaw rogue.
The majority of our kit is built around disrupting a single target while we kill them, and providing abilities to escape unharmed when we are done.
It just happens to be that disruption is very important in high level competitive pvp, and as such many consider rogue CC a supportive role for the group, but it is not in itself supportive abilities.
Then hunter, warr, dk, mage, lock, DH, maybe monk should have mortal strike? I guess most of them do already. Except mages.
Might as well take it away from everyone and reduce healing done by 25% for everyone.
Hunter has the
If we dont give MS effects to magic users and dont give MS effects to ranged users, then we are left with warrior and rogue.
This makes sense to me from a game perspective, as magic and range give other benefits in combat. Warrior and Rogue does not really have anything besides brute force and killing potential.
If we assume equal distribution of speccs and classes, then ranged dps will mean you have less risk, and then why play rogue or warrior if you can achieve the same as a hunter? The answer is MS effects, that gives a huge bonus for taking the risk of going into melee.
But this is just my opinion, I am certain you can think of other good ways to do it, and I in general also think they should reduce the gap closers of all melee again, so that the range of ranged classes becomes a benefit again.
I main rogue and hunter, and when I play melee on these classes I never have issues sticking to range targets. Its far too easy for us to stick to our targets, so range is becoming a meaningless parameter in balance.
you can also look at it like this
ranged takes less damage overall
melee makes you get less healing
Enjoy your healing experience with MS galore, dampening which ramps up at the speed of light, billions ccs , omega spiky damage and scuffed MMR system.
I genuinely wonder why there’s a shortage of healers.
next expansion they will give mortal strike to every healer too
Give rets MS too, spec is useless in PvP without it.
i remember when classes where chosen for comps based on what they brought to the table, now days everyone got ms, stuns, interupts, charges, we are all the same now just spells are called something different…
Then their beloved mages will have to find another partner in crime ![]()
They just play double mage XD
well bring the player not the class or in todays context bring the fotm reroll op thing of the month
Specs have been more and more homogenized recently. In the most boring way, too. Everyone gets their generic 30-40% wall (latest offender: Divine Protection) and are happy, but don’t see the greater picture. Same goes for MS effects. Easy (but lazy) fixes for a complex problem.
and stuns, and mobility
it’s a consequence of the new talent system
before you actually had to pick
now not so much
hunters would like a word with u
also mail, plate etc, why doesnt it matter anymore these days
