*Stares off into the distance*
He keeps calling my name! “I wanna go home, Jimmy! I wanna sail the Hispaniola!” I said, “Like, how? I can’t find the flippin’ way back! I can’t find the way back!” I can’t get it out of my head. A dream of 35 years. Every day I have this. And sometimes I wake up and I don’t know where I am.
21…yeah i know im old, but then again does gaming have to have an age limit

I think it’s to be expected, in a way, the average age of the gamer demographic is only increasing. These days to people in their 40’s and above even, gaming is ‘just a hobby’ or something you do for fun, whereas to a generation ago (so your -actual- Boomers) it was seen as a thing that kids did.
Certainly for my generation we grew up with the first home computers and games, and sure, the internet wasn’t around yet, but we played games, so it was always just part of what we did. We grew up with computer games, and later the internet, so it was as normal a pastime to us as watching TV or listening to music was to our parents.
Look how normal it is now to have a smartphone.
That wasn’t normal when I was a teenager. They, as in mobile phones hardly existed (apart from the ones that were more use as a melee weapon than for making phone calls from).
The age demographic of Gamers is only going to rise, until it becomes basically the average age demographic of the entire population.
It is a genuinely interesting time to be alive, and part of that change.

Oh yeah, I more just meant that people in their 40’s literally grew up with computer games as a hobby, older people play, but it will have been a new thing created during their lifetime, as with the smartphones example being a ‘thing’ that only came to be during my lifetime, not during my childhood.
And you were already eating popcorn?
oh yes, i remember this. i’d constantly have to ask my parents to come help me read quest text. and yeah, i’m just like you, i have this game (and the internet in general, i guess) to thank for teaching me english.
