@Kiryaa: Actually, that specific adjustment was made based on Census data. Thing is, Census counts characters, not players, so I did NOT add over 8 000 to the total. As I noted, I strived for the most pessimistic values, which effectively meant that I divided character values by 3, 3,5 or 4 to get player approximates and where available, also took peeks at concurrency numbers to adjust that divider (latest available for Jin’do was somewhat over 1 400).
The main point was to show Morghoth that putting the global number of WotLK:C players below 200 000 is unrealistic.
@Kiryaa: The site has a few filtering options and I use multiple sources when possible. That helps to mitigate some of the various errors of different sites and methods. Also, the fact that it is basically impossible to achieve too high results (provided one reads the available data correctly) is very, very useful when we are discussing smallest possible numbers.
I think RDF would improve levelling experience a lot. It’s almost 2023, there aren’t many levellers even on megaservers. Social aspect isn’t an argument enough to justify not being able to run a dungeon at all if you play unpopular times.
That said, Thekal is quite fine, I just ran Setthek Halls the other midnight.
