I see one of two options
Anything else like a player controlled moving option to move characters will not happen. I see 1 happening and players being unhappy.
So am I currently.
Once I’ve done KT I’m done.
What do I care how much gold someone else has.
Neither has been even considered by Blizzard, at least publicly. I dunno why you keep ignoring the 4 options they indeed presented us, but w/e.

though running a survey on a small fraction of the playerbase is not really good. they should just ask every classic account what they would want before deciding
How can you use transferring to “cheat”? And how would fresh servers allow players to “cheat”? You’re not making any sense.
Why? Are political surveys invalid just because they don’t ask everyone? Are GDP measures invalid just because they only ask a sample of businesses instead of every single one? Do you even comprehend how statistics work?
Move your gold to one character, transfer it. move it to another character transfer it and so on.
Fresh servers where everyone starts at 1 will not happen, I’m 100% sure on that, it’s some persons pipe dream.
Ok so… you have characters A and B on Classic. You transfer character A to TBC. Done. Now tell me - how do you move your gold from character A (who’s now in TBC) to character B (who’s still in Classic)? And even if you did, your gold total wouldn’t change.
Do you even understand the difference between “character transfer” and “character copy”?
I agree that they’re less likely than character transfers, but they’re still more likely than the “character copy” proposal you and some others keep making. If character copying was an option, it’d have been on the survey to begin with.

One way keeps classic realms and one way doesn’t, that will be the two options, no messing around with new empty TBC realms where you have to start again. That’s just stupid.
It’s not just a matter of using the wrong word. In a character transfer you can’t dupe gold as you assume, because characters are moved - along with all their gold - from one server to another. If you then take that gold and pass it to another character that hasn’t transferred yet (which I’m not sure how you even would do to begin with), your transferred character would now have less gold, so your gold total wouldn’t change. I mean, if you transfer your current character, say, from Gehennas to Firemaw, does it mean you now have more gold than before?
Where’s the cheating potential in all this, exactly?
The problem with transfers is you will have a loud minority of people crying that they are facing a Sophie’s choice of deleting their char from Classic in order to transfer it to TBC.
Hence the Dottie’s theory of one time copy of every character - to appease the undecisive.
The option I meant to say was character copy, not transfer. You got that right. Now stop going on about that and if you can’t see how a copy could be exploited then you clearly have no imagination.
If that was a possibility, as I said, it likely would’ve been included in the survey to begin with. If only transfer or fresh was offered as an option, that’s probably what they’re going for. At the very least it sounds stupid to me to believe that an option that was never proposed to players in any shape or form, at this stage, is more likely to happen than one which has. And, as the case is, NEITHER of Dottie’s options has even been proposed by Blizzard to begin with. None of the proposals involve copying characters from Classic to TBC, or the disappearance of Classic servers altogether.

No. They’re not going to “stay on a Classic realm as well”. Either they move to TBC or they stay on Classic. That’s what Blizzard proposed to us.
The survey had both options. Nothing has been proposed, I’m sure you could link it if they had proposed it.

Where’s the option that includes character copying, here? Or the option that does not involve the continuation of Classic servers (i.e. servers not continuing into TBC)? I’m not seeing it.
That’s not really a problem, just the true vanilla experience.
My guess is that classic servers will move on to TBC, and that blizzard may launch a couple of fresh classic servers without any transfers if there is demand for it.
So what is this option?
Continue playing my current Classic character on my existing server as it progresses to the Burning Crusade expansion, with the option to transfer to a Classic server that will never progress past level 60.
Wait, it’s playing on Classic and TBC.

There was after all more than one page on TBC in that survey.
With the option to TRANSFER to a Classic server. That’d mean that, if you do take this option, you no longer would have a character on the existing server that progressed to Burning Crusade. Again, if you transfer from Gehennas to Firemaw or Shazzrah, do you keep your character on Gehennas? No, you don’t.
Unless a massive number of ppl voted option (5) (which I doubt), that seems to be a moot point.
Let’s just wait and see what Blizzard announce for TBC and stop arguing. I think it will come but the form is a discussion that gets people heated up.
