How TBC & Alts

Would be great to know how TBC will be handled; TBC made pretty much every spec a thing. If we get to copy then I’m sure some/many of us will want multiple alts +58. However; if its a fresh template then its raid logging time …

I’d personally prefer fresh servers, simply due to the fact that the current economy in classic is so screwed atm xD.

Nothing fresh.
The economy will get screwed in BC aswell.

I think I’ll outright unsub if I don’t get to continue this char into TBC, and I reckon I’m not the only one.

So, you’re playing for BC or just playing for classic currently…?
About 30-40+ mages on my realm alone have around 40k gold currently.
Heck, probably more.

A lot of people are just playing classic to save up gold for BC.

I sincierly hope that we will not.
Stay on classic or move your character to TBC.

If there will be , copy , option, just kek, if they are only thinking about copying

I personally would prefer if it weren’t fresh.

I’m planning to reroll Blood Elf paladin main, and I’m 100% sure that, if they went for a fresh TBC approach, a lot more people would.

Also yeah, as Nicolay said, there’s probably a lot more ppl who would unsub if it’s fresh than there would be if it’s not. We can’t know for sure, ofc, but I guess that’s why Blizzard ran a survey for this, so they at least have the data.

Then classic server will end up dead because a big part of it’s population transfered over to BC servers…

They’ll have a problem with half ded server in any case, copy might be the lesser evil

But, what exactly changes… if they have already moved to BC though? lol.
It’s not like they’d play classic if BC is out.

I’m playing because I enjoy my character. It’s a role playing game after all.
I mean, I expect to clear Naxx and get reasonable approximation of BiS gear eventually. I’ll unsub if i don’t get to bring Nicolay to TBC either way, regardless of whether it’s because there’s no TBC coming or it’s coming but with some caveat where you don’t get to bring your main character.

Yeah everything we do on lvl60 classic will be trashed if it goes on into TBC. Why clear BWL/AQ/NAXX or grind rank14 if all those items get worthless at one day? Classic should become stagnant.

You will be given the choice of staying in Classic either way once TBC comes, so I fail to see how this is a problem. It should be up to people to decide whether they want to bring their BWL/AQ/NAXX/R14 gear into TBC (and “make them worthless”) or not.

Why even play the game?

I dunno I would prefer if u copy character it would only allow you to copy char with your gear which becomes non vendor able and maybe a cap of like 50 g or something otherwise the economy will start broken with gold hoarding epic flying and professions will be trivial for many

It’s also worthless if you are the only one left on the server
classic severs should probably get merged together once tbc launches to maintain a intact population.

That’s a very good question.
Some players enjoy the leveling journey and they want to develop their ingame character. Character development will be finished at some point (when you are 60 and have all the items you want). So all that effort of developing your ingame character will become mostly worthless with a new expansion.
Of course people who only enjoy the part of developing their character will eventually get bored of classic if they already have everything and know there will be no expansion. I am not here to only collect items…
I want to be finished with my char development so i can finally play the other aspects of the game with my pimped out character. This would be the point where i finally show off my character and use it: dueling/open world pvp, ganking/griefing and helping other players. Be the hero or antihero whatever in the classic wow open world. Sometimes i just run around to see what’s going on and i often end up in some fun little adventures (obviously i want to have a good char for this). I still raid sometimes even tough i already have all the items i need… The social aspect of the game will never end.

That’s why I think the best option, out of all those presented on the Blizzard survey about TBC transition, was to progress all current servers into TBC and open a few Classic servers to transfer, for those who want to stay in Classic - so that you can actually consolidate populations into something viable.

Of course, if you scour this forum board and others, you’ll find plenty of deluded people who scream “BUT MAH SERVER COMMUNITY” and demand people moving to TBC to transfer instead - without realizing that their precious Classic servers would become ghost towns in that scenario. I think a lot of people just don’t seem to realize how many people will actually move to TBC once it’s available :joy:

EDIT: We don’t know which option turned out to be the most popular, but a Reddit survey with the same options, and a few thousand votes, showed the “Transition to TBC with option of transfer to few Classic realms” as the most preferred option, so I’d be optimistic in this regard.

I could imagine that fresh servers.

that would be smooth so my main could stay in a classic environment and i can just level up a twink for tbc without spending any time on gearing it ^^

Until the day BfA happened.

Yeah, no ducking way I’m doing all that levelling again.
