How to Address the ZG Enchants Being Tradable on Raid Items - [Suggestion]

First of all, the ability to place these enchants on BoE items existed all through Vanilla and TBC. It wasn’t changed until patch 3.1 of WotLK. Please allow this to remain in Classic.

However, what didn’t exist in Vanilla or TBC was the ability to trade raid items for 2 hours after they are acquired. This would allow classes to take items not meant for them, so that they can enchant them and trade them back to the main class. That, in my opinion, would go against the spirit of Classic WoW. I’m sure Blizzard will feel similar to that.

If you plan to address this issue of ZG enchants, please consider ONLY disabling the ability to enchant a raid item until it’s 2 hour trade window has passed.

This would solve the issue of raid trading enchanted items, while ensuring the enchants themselves will remain Blizzlike (i.e. working on BoE items) and not go against the spirit of Classic.

Im pretty sure its a bug even for boes, using the enchant makes the item soulbound. They are abusing spellbatching to get it traded and enchanted in same window

These types of enchants didn’t make items soulbound until patch 3.1 of Wrath of the Lich King. People frequently used them all through Vanilla and TBC. It just wasn’t well known back then. The only reason we have to use the trade window “bug” now is because they reverse engineered Classic from Retail.

Just remove the “Class”, but keep the “lvl 60”
Mage enchant is clearly better than what locks get, the class that really need hit

Bump, i stand with op

If this becomes a thing, then I imagine that Blizzard would get a lot more tickets in the future from people who fail to do this exploit correctly. Not to be that guy, but I think this is something they would want to avoid, so I wouldn’t count on this staying at all.

On the flip side of that, and using your own reasoning against you, lots of people have already done the enchants or are planning to do them in the next couple of days and many more will have by the time Blizzard addresses it.

Just look at how long it’s taking them to state their stance on the Diamond Flask issue that people have been complaining about for 5 weeks. People are still waiting. Imagine trying to roll back 5 weeks worth of ZG enchants across all of their servers? The gold and mats involved, etc. It’d be an absolute nightmare.

Just because Blizzard are lazy or whatever, and a lot of people abused it already, it doesn’t mean it wont be fixed. Everyone knows that this is not the way these enchants are meant to work and im sure those who abuses it know that there is a chance that this might get fixed sooner or later.

It’s the same with Diamond Flask. Even though Blizzard hasn’t mentioned anything about it, a lot of people including myself are still unsure if they will let it stay this way. Yes a lot of warriors have already invested a lot of time and gold getting healing gear for their DF build but I believe that many of them still dread the day where Blizzard nerf it.

How are they not meant to work that way if that’s the way they worked all the way through Vanilla until half of the way through Wrath of the Lich King?

The only reason they got nerfed at all is because twinks started to get out of control with all the enchant stacking in WotLK.

And let’s be real, these enchants aren’t going to have a negative impact on anything. Warriors and Rogues will still be on top no matter what, and the Casters will all still be beneath them. The same as usual. Maybe the super easy casual bosses that die in the blink of an eye will die a few seconds faster than before.

You can tell its not intended from the huge pop-up that says “enchanting this item will make it soulbound” or something like that. And if you look up the spell ID for each enchant you can see they have a flag that says “Target must be own item”.

Sure it worked in later expansions but I guess it didn’t have any impact on the end game so they didn’t bother fixing it before it became out of hand for twinks, as you said.

Anyway, all im trying to say is, don’t be surprised if they fix this as it is infact unintended thus an exploit.

waiting for blizzard response

Yeah, can’t wait for the AQ patch too.
