How to correctly sim/determine item quality

Hey all,

im have been getting cluttered over time because in some cases i cant determine whether item A or B is better and so im playing and swapping around and i think it is natural in some cases but i got the feeling in general that i have too little insight which items are good and which arent.

So atm im maining rogue which i plan to continue on classic era, so the question how to sim/determine item quality precisely is primarily focused on rogue but im also interested in other resources like warlock or hunter in TBC.

Can you share your experiences how you do it?

I got the feeling that it over values low/high AS on main/off hand but i didnt sim, just can tell from what ive seen on the dps meter when experimenting with different weaps.

Most sites out there agree on the best stats. Some have minor difference as the formulas can change when you get to a certain level of one stat.

For rogue I use the sim excel from Simonize.
