How to farm gold nowadays?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice on how to farm gold effectively. I wanted to save up gold, but even making 10-15k gold for crafting or 1k gold for repairs feels impossible right now.

Gold farming from raids and dungeons has been nerfed into the ground. From M+ runs, I’m only getting around 100 gold, which doesn’t even cover repair costs. Daily world quests give about 800 gold, which still isn’t enough to cover repairs either.

On top of that, mining and herbalism farming has been completely ruined by bots, crafting orders are practically nonexistent, and selling flasks or food on the AH doesn’t even cover the cost of materials anymore.

Does anyone have any tips or strategies to make decent gold in the current patch? I’d really appreciate any help!

Thanks!

You might not want to hear this; but more alts make more money. Just take the world boss. 1000 gold x amount of alts. Also some weeklies from dornogal are very easy to do and they can reward 1000-1700 gold. I might have even seen 3000 gold from the 100 titan thingies :grimacing:

But my weekly mining is also still giving a couple thousand a week. Or look at satchels for heroic dungeon queues. I runned 2 last week and got 6 runes out of it which sold each for 1400-1500 gold.

And i make my own potions/flasks on a herbing/alchemy alt.

Honestly; it isn’t really easy to come around in TWW.

hello.
join 2x4 and 1x5 skinning leather farming groups.
or you can go skinn what they do since it shared.
its the best one at the moment.
sadly yes herbalism and mining is very bad

Tried Satchel from heroics, but that system is completly not working.
20+++ min queues having satchel for a dungeon

I came from a long break (last time I’ve played it was possible to farm some raw gold), but now it seems that the only chance to have some gold is to

  1. play/farm professions at expansion start or buy for $

i dont know how much do you want but
if you read my answer above you get 30000 per hour with that

There is no way to make gold that’s remotely interesting, it all boils down to insane repetition and boredom, exploits, or spending your entire playtime flipping stuff on the AH. Has been that way for years.

If you don’t mind delves, they can be reasonable gold makers. The delvers currency can be used to buy reagent bags, they can contain the tinderboxes and other 700g reagents. Even if you just do the four bountiful n your main a week it can make a nice amount of gold.

Blizz reduced raw gold output from game mainly due bots, not like its solved anything.

You either pick up an alt army and do weekly stuff for 1k gold chests, go farm with profession, lfd satchels with tank/healer class, or become ah goblin with tsm bot addon.

Or buy wow token with irl money.

Oh and dont believe “do this and u get 50k gold / hours” youtube videos, most likely scams and never work that way or very-very rarely.

We’d likely have higher costs of AH items and the likes without any reduction in the gold from real repetitive farming, such as running previous expansion dungeons and vendor’ing the loot from them. Bots may have been the ones mainly doing it but if enough regular players do it for gold as well then it’d just lead to a higher gold supply and an increased willingness to spend more for trade goods and services, leading to a higher degree of inflation.

Or have a stash of 1m gold to spend on items to flip into an additional 50k through professions. A lot of those really seem to lean heavily into economy of scale and play it off at a number that looks nice for a title and thumbnail on youtube.

Easiest way is to work some overtime and buy tokens for your extra pay :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Have you ever considering that the spawnrate of mines and herbs are more likely to be the root cause of low prices? Also i would like to see some evidence of the bots destroying the markets.

Unfortunately, purchasing a token is the most time-effective way to earn gold. Right now it is 385k gold.

The lowest wage right now in the EU is around 3.5€/hour. This means that, to make 20€, you need to work 6 hours. So it’s 64k gold/hour, and increasing with one’s higher wage. I don’t know of any in-game activity, through botting or not, that can get close to providing that amount of gold income; not even Bismuth farming. Of course there is also the case of one not having that as disposable income. I don’t want to get into this discussion since it may be sensitive.

Or just wow token… instead of you know… having to skin for 10 hrs

Mythic plus is a bad gold sink activity .if your only objective is to make gold

I think low prices has more to do with a unified auction house that we have now then in the past .

go delves - get undercoin - buy reagent pouches - each contains some crafting reagents that go from 700 to 2,5k per piece - ez fastest gold if you are desperate.

Farm the rares in Shadowlands that drop pets, some sell for quite a bit

I suggest you farm crafting materials of all types until the next patch. If crafting follows the usual pattern there will be a sudden spike in crafting leading to an increase in profession material prices as they are snapped up in their thousands (literally) by crafters looking to craft higher ilvl gear.

better spend the amount of hours, you spend in the game farming gold, to do a part time job, then buy wow-token = ez.

gathering professions through the auction house, selling off excess gatherables you’re not using for patron orders

If you’re not spending ingenuity on something else like a crafting order that’ll get you a big comission, take t2 gatherables and craft them into t3 crafting materials with ingenuity and sell that every 4 days (time it takes for ingenuity to recover)
