Explosives isn’t hard because it forces you to be aware. Plenty of players notice them in time, and could in theory, easily do the damage required to take them out in time.
The problem is how horrifically it is implemented. You don’t want us to just cheese them with a /target macro. Fair enough. But why do they have to be so hard to click on? If you’re near another mob, or it’s name plate, that just covers the explosive affix and you can spam click it to no avail. Have them hard to click, OR targetable with a macro, not both. On a related note, I find it much easier to target them when playing melee than from range.
This isn’t a “git gud” issue, it’s a “fix the interface of your god damn game so I can quickly react to stimuli I need to deal with extremely quickly”.
Also, while I’m at it:
Crappy little adds (such as the droplets in storm should spawn explosives less frequently, or spawn them at a lower rate)
Explosives should be less random. It doesn’t FEEL good to wipe because on a pull, an insane amount of explosives spawned. Maybe spawn at certain event triggers in fights. I know 35+ year old devs love RNG because they grew up playing Dungeons and Dragons, and old school MMOs, but randomness that ruins game progression doesn’t feel good.
Explosives shouldn’t spawn from boss adds. Nuff said.
tldr: let us click the god damn explosives, or macro target them.
