- defeat queue syncing in all the pvp
- scale not pvp gear in Quick Match battlegrounds, people come with no gear
- make ilvl pvp difference between honor and conquest gear smaller to help with 2., difference 3 ilvl between tiers
- give gold to healers in rated pvp, queues are too long healers must want to play
- allow mercenary mode for both factions all the time, it is not only about queue time but about winning that bg
- more frequent balance patches
The solution is to put me in charge.
Here’s a small sample of my genius IQ moves to make PvP great again:
too much focus on advanced players
this will not help on its own
what I say must be done first
like no one is above 1800 now, no one plays
only paid boosters queue syncing
even normal bgs are very bad premades and people with no gear
Introduce decay from inactivity and make pvp seasonal ranks % based in each mode separately or rework the participation based rating system in wow
In current system ppl play first 2 weeks in the mode with most inflation from most participation, to ratings they wish and then they sit their mains for 5 months while smurfing alts and then maybe come push for last week of the season on the highest mains after the characters have also gained artificial inflation per week on its mmr for 5 months.
The current system in place actually punishes you if you play whole season or a lot in general, as it will try put everyone on 50% win eventually. It rewards rushing first weeks and then parking characters to wait for inflation rise per week and come push last week of season. Thats how ppl minmax it and its ridiculous design for game. Games are ideally meant to be played
this will not help make casuals to play more
and there are way more casual players than advanced ones
without casuals advanced players have no mode to play because no one plays it
True, the % based ranks in each mode separately would just make sure that the situation like now isnt holding people back as they are currently playing against r1 and awc players from 2.1 onwards so nobody has any incentive to play then when they know they wont gain anything against those r1 ppls teams.
Technically if you have to play against someone thats been on r1 ranges in past or currently has multiple characters there but now on his 5th alt example, then wouldnt you also be playing on a lot harder difficulty than what some rival or duelist usually would be, where you now meet this guy and his similar team. If you by some miracle happen to win them you are only rewarded few points on your rival - duelist ratings and thats it. Huge amount effort for little to no reward at all. The current system is just nonsensical in a sense.
Ppl dont want work harder if they know that in time or usually it is a lot easier to gain something
not a good idea. That has already been there and it was impossible to balance, a solution to that (very demanded by players) was adding a vendor and templating PVP gear.
that is solving what exactly? if you don’t want to keep upgrading why do you even need conquests? Or honors, or whatever else.
isn’t that just a casual pvp thing?
your solution is better, I’d add more cosmetic rewards, mounts, cool permanent unique seasonal titles, elite transmogs like in Legion. That would be enough to make at least me play pvp again
scaling non pvp gear in Quick Match battlegrounds never caused any balance problems
you are making things up
name problems it will cause
underlining problem, you obviously do not see, is that pvp is not fun experience now, and people do not play it, and the reasons are the ones I named
you not understanding these problems is your problem
casual pvp is pvp and all pvp starts and involves casual pvp, your thinking only about advanced forms or pvp is big problem too
We’ve been there before vendor. There were problems balancing items and classes, and certain trinkets caused many issues in ranked PVP across WoW history.
This is why they keep the whole PVP gear templated these days, separated from PVE and vault weekly rewards completely, and why there is a special bonus for wearing both PVP trinkets especially, so not even mythic pve trinkets won’t be worth wearing in pvp.
it is not a fun experience only because of the very long queue time from what I see. There are not enough healers which is the only thing you got right in your list of problems. But I don’t believe gold would persuade them to play pvp more.
I’ve checked you, what do you know about PVP problems when you’ve played only around 1800 max so far?
I don’t see any problem with casual pvp, acceptable queues, fun stuff is usable there, what more do you need? The problem is with ranked pvp, because seasonal titles are temporary and permanent is only glad which is limited to very dedicated pvpers, and even a mount just for them as well. For people under glad rating, there is not much to play it for, so the only thing left to participate in ranked pvp is the elite transmog, which usually is not that good. At least for me.
So in my eyes, if they just add-on rewards people would play it more, I’d love some Legion-style elite transmogs or some cool permanent titles to obtain, mounts, toys, other cool cosmetics, you name it.
casuals can play epic bgs .if you are not bothering with a bare minimum pvp gear that you can easily get with honor by just playing then random bg or arena skirmish are not for u
then it should not matter if casual pvp is casual pvp as u say . you are taking two opposite views .clear your mind first
There is already the problem of dps specs queueing for bg blitz as healers thinking they are beating the queue times despite not having a clue how to play healer in bg. There is also the problem of those with a stealth ability just sitting afk in a corner anyway.
This suggestion of give gold to healers would just exacerbate the situation.
For me it would be more than good enough to double if not triple the conquest gain.
It would insentvise player to make alts and PVEers would try some games if it is a quick way to get relativily okay gear.
I love playing my alts to 1.8k and the rating comes way faster than the gear, I usually miss a couple of pieces so I won’t be able to send the crates to new alts.
No amount of “fixing” will improve player participation if the general player base aren’t interested in PvP on a fundamental level.
I, and a lot of players I know enjoy other competitive games alongside WoW’s PvE. I suspect that this is a common theme.
Imo.
Just remove the entire game mode.
Plenty of other PvP games for you all
