How to get into the keys?

Literally every time I even ask to join +17 I get rejected.
Funny thing is, I mostly play with friends or guildies and manage to clear keys higher than I expected. I main warrior and that toon had quiet a bit of stuff done, but this one? I done a mainly raid, and Mythic wasn’t that interesting for me, so now that I try to pug even a 17 without guildies - no one just accepts me, why?

Is there something abnormal about me?
Is there something that I should fix before being able to go and pug a key ?

You don’t have very high gear, your progression looks boosted and you’re DPS. Just guessing obviously.

Your score is very low and you haven’t cleared sone of the dungeons and yet you have some 20s. It looks boosted AF.

I raid with my guild on weekly basis , as well as spam heroic DOTI and I did mythic+ back in BfA and skipped in SL

Let me rephrase - how do I make sure that people believe me and actually take me to keys? I can spam low keys if that’s the issue of score and bump it up, not a problem

438 is overkill for 17s its there low score.

yeah some of the people in the groups are boosters :stuck_out_tongue:

You have consistently 0-100 DPS on raids which suggest a floor PoV. You’ve only completed each dungeon in +20 once or never at all. In a group where everyone’s 445 while you were 427.

I don’t know how pug leaders spotted it, but whatever system they’re using it’s working as intended.

As DPS you’re not competing with the content, but with the other 9859438583475 DPS in the queue who have better gear.

You dont say well i never :astonished:

Increase your M+ score. Also make sure to clear the dungeons you haven’t done yet. for 17s ~2200 score should be enough.

Thank you, I will work on that ^^

One of the reasons I gave up trying to get into the M+ scene, it’s very hardcore and your abilities are judged by a 3rd party website.

Well, to be fair as people posted above there are a couple of problems:

  • Your only keys seem to be boosts, either paid or by friends. This communicates that you were not a factor in the success of those keys, and therefore not contribute to the success of the listed key.

  • Also your boss kills seem to be from a boost. Apart from generally low damage, being dead for most of the last bosses, you have the same number of kills on all the bosses (which rules out any type of linear progress).

  • You do not have a linked main, which implies that this is your highest rated character.

  • You are playing a dps, which is melee and not meta in any way. There is nothing wrong with that, but when you are not bringing anything interesting to your group, it takes more effort to stand out from the rest.

Generally at this point in time, the best way to progress is to run your own keys (as low as you feel comfortable), and either go with people that just want to finish it (no leavers type of keys), or just take alts of high rated people that know the dungeons.
At the end of the day, this late into the season your experience will be subpar.

Things will be way better at the start of the new season, which you will have a chance to progress normally.

Unfortunately a 30 second check of your IO score shows that you were boosted so good luck getting a straight invite.
Go with your guild.

I would honestly recommend you to stick to doing keys with your friends and guildies.

This way no matter how the dungeon unfolds, everyone will be putting their friendship above any levels of disappointment.

The PuG M+ scene is like a job market full of overqualified candidates that do not need to be paid extra. In fact it is EXPECTED to be as overqualified as possible. It is a toxic working environment waiting for something to go wrong.
The players who will thrive in PuGs are those who generally are really good performers as well as those who are simply immune to Emotional Damage.

Try a community or keep running keys with your guild/friends.

It is a blizzard score. No website needed. 1200 score for +17’s is quite low. There are so many dps applying with way more blizzard score. Why take someone for a +17 dungeon they have never run before?

^^ This, it’s literally part of the armory and the score shows up in game when you apply to groups. Just taking mine as an example (so no mistaking it for shaming):-

In the top line where your name is it shows your score

Lower down there is a breakdown of each dungeon and your score

If you mouse over the dungeon it will even tell you who they ran it with.

Exactly my point, its not new player friendly in the slightest, people who want to try it cannot get into it even lower keys are the same.

No one cares if you have 1200 score if you are running a low key. If it’s a +8 people pretty much take anyone.

I get that, tbh it’s really not my scene anymore I gave up trying to get into it, it was quite toxic at one point and when I organised groups myself people always left so I gave up even trying.

Communities are best for people dabbling IMO. Either Dungeon Dojo or Scared of Dungeons. Both have really good reputations.
