I did all there is and now nothing, still no adventure mode on alts. Everything is so unclear and tedious in retail wow, if you quit for a few years your experience will be horrible. There are more quests ofc, endless amounts of braindead quests with a story so bad I don’t care at all. It’s like they tried to make the worst story ever, playing SL and DF campaign TWW is not better as well. I want player agency like in classic. The portal to valdrakken also doesnt work on alts god knows why, the game NEVER EXPLAINS.
Now it just says “campaign” under dragonflight. Very helpful. Which campaign will unlock adventure mode, I have no interest in seeing this garbage tier story of blizzard

I don’t watch the cinematics, they are cringe and awful. Retail is dead because it’s incredibly unfriendly to newcomers or returning players. It’s constantly fighting me to dictate what is “fun”, I have news, retail wow is not fun. It’s not better, it only got worse after Legion.
But classic has less player agency than retail, and it’s a good thing, because in modern wow Blizzard wants us to always be able to do anything we want in a heartbeat, and that idea leads to:

In classic on the other hand, you are gonna be around level 11-13, when you finish starting zone. Where do you go after? Westfall, Darkshore, or Loch Modan. The quests lead into the next areas, and the idea is to do almost all of them, unless you dungeon grind.
In Retail you enter a zone and the whole map is full of things to do, and you can do almost anything to level up in a decent pace. In a modern zone, dozens of small activities seek the player’s attention. You can do anything you want. Some say that this is great, but I think it just makes me tired to always be confronted with tons of options.
For what its worth, content is honestly in a pretty good spot since years
The story is still a bit eh, apparently TWW saw some content cuts because they would make sense later in the Saga after they decided to do the Saga and that’s caused a bit of a strange story pacing.
I was talking from Alliance perspective. As Horde you wouldn’t go to Westfall. But yeah, true anyway. There was a very clear progression of where to go. I wouldn’t say it was linear, but once you comitted to a leveling route, you likely stay on that route for hours and hours. I’d say the player agency is lower effectively because of it, and I think that’s good for the game. I personally don’t wanna be spammed with popups of activities everywhere I go like it happens in modern wow
Yup, I quit in bfa, refunded shadowland and never bought dragonshyte and TWW. Now with midnight i get 2 expansions for price of 1, tried it but yes, I will quit now as well. The future of wow is Classic+ clearly, retail is rotten in every aspect and only gotten worse since last I played
No it’s not. I partly bought it because I’ve got a nice YT channel now and wanted to make a review, cause all reviews are made by retail andies who will eat any slob served to them. Retail wow is still play the patch, not the expansion. There is no power gain, nothing stays. I have 0 interest in trying an honestly barely made it to level cap, such a boring slow slog with no progression.
Most annoying of all, there is just to much, for the first time in ever, I could experience how a “new” player experiences the game. It’s a mess. To many expansions, to much stuff going on, story makes no sense, leveling is awful, scaling is dumb. It’s just all around not good. The pve might be good, but LoL or Dota is just better at that point. Saves you that awful leveling process and getting the same boring gear patch after patch. etc. Anyway I can skip that.
Just sad that 5 buffoons in a basement can make a better wow version than Blizzard. They can sue, but they can’t erase their legacy. Chromie time is a joke, it’s broken and barely works. Besides you outlevel the content way before you’ve experienced it. Good thing to, because you only get weaker as you level. The subscription money clearly goes nowhere.
I hope they release a Classic+, it’s the only future wow has.
Oh yeah the seasonal system is still in place and its a load of diahrea, but the content design is in a good spot.
Maybe classic for you, but by my experience people still play that as if its retail, even tho it lacks the incentives to play like it is retail.
I’ll be honest man I feel like its been a mess since cataclysm, I doubt they’ll ever fix that, or even if you can get people to agree on what it is that should be and shouldn’t be fixed.
I was talking about endgame content exclusively cause again, levelings been broken for way longer then modern wow. I wouldn’t put that sin at the feet of the modern game atleast.
