How to save normal/hc raid, and m+ in a few steps

  • Step 1.: M+ should not given higher ilvel items, as heroic raids, both chest and vault.
  • Step 2.a.: To compensate the missing content, 16 and higher keys should give cosmetic
    rewards, titles, toy, etc.
-Step 2.b.: How the challenge would work: Since every item has now a scaling, when somebody starts a challenge run, every item that he or she owns, that has a higher level, that you can get from m+, will be scaled down to that level, like the way it works in Timewealking instances, ensuring that everybody has a similar chance in the challenge part.

With this the following can be ensured:

  • Normal and heroic raids will regain some role in the gearing process, meainig people who don’t want to mythic raid, have a chance for a longer play with their guild before they turn to mythic difficulty
  • The m+ would regain it’s original goal, to be an extra, but optional, not mandatory source of gearing, especially favourabla to those who can’t go to raid’s at all.
  • Also the toxic and eltist feel of the game mode would hopefully become less threatening and overwhelming.
-The cosmetic challenge and reward system would also provide the stistfaction to those who like to prove that they better than the average casuals.

we dont raid because of gear. raid is boring and tedious. spending 2-3 hours walking back is not fun in 2023. reform the raid after a wipe, join a stupid guild raid on schedule too. raid is a relict of the past. numbers dont lie.

it cant be fixed as long as they dont give unique rewards

So, raid or die?

No thanks.

Why is it death?

We can save wow if we delete raids.
there great idea, right?

As far as I can tell the wast majority in this game doesn’t like to raid.
Many of those who raid just do it to get some gear by semi afking like lfr or normal raids.

How to save raids?
Make it 5 people content

They already have a role in the gearing process. For the first 4-6 weeks they are the best method to obtain Tier sets and powerful raid trinkets.

Your idea assumes that everyone should want to raid, which is a dumb idea… right now people can choose how they want to gear up but you want to force them to raid… Bad on so many levels

One of the devs recently admitted it again during an interview: The vast majority of people do LFR; it’s the most used out of all the raids by far.

Raiding is a niche activity. Which is fine in itself, but that means that maybe the whole game shouldn’t revolve around it then?

I’ll rewrite this for you.

Step 1: Force people to raid

Step 2: Lower population

Step 3: Corporate announcement of how the WoW journey has come to an end, server reductions and shut down timescales.

  1. Raid trinkets are almost always better.
  2. You can’t to get tier items in m+ for first two months.

No, m+ didn’t steal players from raid.

Thats not saving anything. Thats killing the game lmfao.

Scaling systems fail in completitive content.

Im unsure what u beleive exactly needs saving lol. Because this isnt a problem? Lol. M+ and raids have so few playersx because the game itself has so few players lol.

And making massive xhanges which will anger players wont save that, it will just shrink the playerbase even further.

Because m+ has a wider audience then raiding. Lol, it was the highest choice when blizzard launched a poll regarding peoples favorite thing to do.

WoW tested nerfing m+ rewards in SL. The outroar was so large they rebuffed it lol and brought in valor to upgrade those items.

It dont work.

If u honestly wanna try divide content, fine. But why not ask for m+ and raid gear to work like pvp gear?

Nerfed ilevel in other content, but full ilevel in the content its from.

I.e

M+ gear 480 ilevel inside dungeons, however 420 in Open world and raids. Same with raids. Same with open world armour

With all due respect, but I think you all misunderstood my intentions.

I am not trying to force people to raid, I want the opposite, that people would not fell forced to do m+ to to do raids, as in cases expected, and it’s many times said out loud. Like when my guild mate told me that gearing comes from m+ not raid. Or we were told as an advice for improvement to do m+, which is not fun, if you are a non-competitive, without a dedicated team. I have seen the negative effects on my own communities, the guilds I was in. Some of you said raids should be 5 man, well we already have that, it’s called m+. If you take out raids from the game, because you deedm it an old obsolate furniture, (like myself), they you can take out the guild part too, because with no read there will be no (active) guilds, only people with friend list that they form teir parties from.

So because more people eat at McDonalds, that means Burger King is dead?
You have a weird way of looking at things, my dude.

I actually agree; but many people are against divisions between content. Because of several reasons; having to carry around multiple sets, having more work to do for those players who enjoy various types of content, etc.

And honestly, they do have a point.

So you saying the same thing as I am

And if m+ would not became a silently expected mandatory part of raiding, meaning you have to do it even if you don’t want to, because you fear you will be left out, if you don’t try to min-max your gear, as the competitive players in your community.

And it’s also limits the free range of your game time, since you now have an extra serial of events you have to complete weekly. If you are a young tiger, a competitive player, this style fits you well, since most likely you won’t be interested in things like achievements, collecting pets, toy, mounts, levelling alts in old conent for the sake of storytelling. But if you enjoy doing any of the mentioned, you will most likely fall out of the m+ system.

raid if you want to raid, m+ if you want to m+

thats my way of playing.

both should give good loot.

They do, but its a better option to what the OPs suggesting which is deleting gear beneath raiding and demanding scaling as a replacement they tried this in pvp with legion and it went lopsided.

If what i stated is what you ment, it didnt come across that way, your message sounds like u want scaling from legion to return. Not content specific ilevel rewards.

I dont think it qill achieve what ur after however. Raids are unpopular because of time comittment not because people feel forced to m+ im afraid.

However sure itd fix alot of complaints from both sides. M+s staggered tier sets will need to end in trade of this however.

Oh for sure.
For one; normal and hc raids don’t need saving.
It’s always been a niche activity and probably always will be.

So make raid the “king of gearing” and relegate m+ as some minor side activity like pet battles?

No thanks. Had enough of raid or die game style as it. Even if I raid as well, its time for some people to finally accept that the raid’s monopoly on gearing process is over.

Not rly. This is PuG mentality. Pug raiding is a abysmal experience one that even Preach and other mythic raiders admit theyd of quit a decade ago if seriously played the game this way.

PuG raiding is quite litterally the worst engiroment avaliable. It has Always been horrific. Their are parodies as far back as legion about how terrible pug enviroments really are.

You got people rolling on loot to then demand money for from the damn raid :joy::joy::joy:

Litterally GKDP has come from wotlk classic to retail, pug raiding is absolutely atricious in terms of accessibility outside premades

Normal and heroic is where the big majority of players is who is interested in raiding. When people look at the success of a raid they look often at the Ahead of the Curve numbers. All the non hardcore raiders/guilds are in normal and heroic.

How Raiding should be organised:

LFR, easier than now, more cosmetic / currency rewards.
Normal, like now maybe a little harder, Flexible for friends and family type guilds.
Heroic 10 and 25 man difficult rading for moer experienced players.
Mythic: For Race to World First. Once this race is won it is unavailable to anyone else. Purely an Achievement only raid. Gives a title and tabard.

That’s it. simple.
