Probably not the first one to come up with this idea.
I haven’t really watched any wow content creators in probably 8 months except WillE so if any popular one’s said this already. I promise I had no idea.
WoW needs to be free 2 play uptoo lvl 60. Allow players to play the game how they want un-restricted 10 levels below the current expansion. If you want to play dragonflight you pay a sub to access 70 content + classic content.
Similar to ff14.
I’m sure those free 2 play players will buy mounts , pets and tokens eventually. Some good hidden $$$ there.
Second thing they need to do now we have controller support. Time WoW found their way on Xbox and Playstation. Yes I’m away Microsoft are going to own Blizzard. But ESO is on both platforms. Don’t see why not wow can do the same.
There’s no new console realms. They play on the same realms as we have now. Throw them onto the low pop realms and hey population crisis adverted.
The reason of free triel, EVENTUALLY they can pay or they do not like it and do not buy anyway.
I get this okay? I do not mind if the game is free for me for ever. But some time I wonder what it is to be level 40 or 45 so I think maybe I pay for this.
That free trial is so limited and lame , can’t talk to people join a guild , trade anything.
It’s completely outdated.
Also free to play brings in so much fresh blood. Young kids are used to a free to play model. I have 2 nephews both under 10 , when asked if they wanted a switch or ps4 games. They just wanted online currency for their favourite free to play games. Had a chat with them about gaming , both of them and their friends all played " free games" that’s their norm. I’m 36 that’s not my norm.
Give free trials to lvl 60 and let them use new accounts or let new players explore the game and let them use auction house and let them get access to Classic Vanilla when they pay tokens
Let them get unlimited golds instead of having 1k, let them get over 200k golds
Im pretty sure blizzard would lose customers this way.
Lots of people play old content as their main gameplay anyways. Why would they pay if they could just get it all for free?
I do think they could do a better job with the free trial, but i dont think giving open access to 16 years of content is in blizzards best interests.
Wow ain’t doing so well , Dragonflight didn’t sell as well as they hoped + they are about to lose their chinese playerbase.
I think drastic actions need to be made. Free to play to 60 doesn’t sound so absurd.
A large portion of the current wow playerbase aren’t raiding for reasons
they’re too old and busy
too time consuming
they ain’t got all day, evening , weekend to no life an mmo anymore.
But … guess who does 12-19 year olds … but that gen lives in a free to play ecosystem. Paying up 70 bucks and 15 for a sub on a game they’re not sure about. It’s just no how games are played according to them.
We aren’t sure on numbers but it’s estimated the WoW chinese playerbase was between 1-2 million players , they’re all about to be disconnected next week and lose all progress and all the blizzard games they’ve bought since 2008
So Blizz has only the western markets left. Now sure some chinese players will probably play on US or Oceanic but doubtful due to China’s strict censorship on things.
I do not understand why WoW community comes here with different ideas trying to save WoW and at the same time mentions other games names as a WoW killer or better than WoW.
Do read the comment above you. MMo’s are expensive. We get new content and expansion because there’s a cash flow to produce them and stay profitable. If you lose 2 million players over night. That’s a big cash flow drop.
Also remember that’s includes Hearthstone which makes alot money for Blizz and it’s very very cheap to make for them.
We are about to drop to player levels seen end of 2005 for the first time since … 2005. Even WoD and BFA and SL had more players or should I say $$$ into Blizz coffers. Than what Dragonflight will be making probably for it’s 2 year lifetime.
I don’t know if you are aware or not how funny you look when you try to “save” WoW.
Don’t worry about WoW because your precious WoW is in more reliable hands than yours.
If you tired or bored, just give a break. Just because you don’t enjoy the game enough doesn’t mean the game is dying. You will feel better and you will see how funy worrying about WoW is.
