How would you feel about blizzard stopping endless TBC?

Normally when i’m trying out a private server, I genuinely believe the developers when they say they are just fans of the game, who want to be able to play there favourite version of the game that blizzard will no longer provide.

Endless though just feels like the biggest cash grab i’ve ever seen. They have a separate store where you can use ‘Endless coins’ to be able to buy insane things like 36 slot bags, tri-talent specialization, instant free respecs forever, and the scarab lord mount amount other things.

I feel like some good things they do are even have hidden intentions. For example they take the hardest line on real world trading i’ve ever seen. Sound’s great right? i hate real world trading. They even reward people for reporting. Then you realize since players trade ingame gold for endless coins, real world trading is fully supported in this game. They just don’t want anyone muscling in on there market.

Personally this is the one time when i’d actually support blizzard crushing a private server. I get accepting some donations to cover server costs etc, but i feel like running a shameless cash grab, off blizzard own IP is pretty awful. I’d 100% back them if they took it down.

…Most private servers are like that.

Plenty of those servers out there… and even when they don’t have cash shops, they still sell characters and gear “under the table”.

Not all are like that, surely… but you can bet that great many is doing something shady to get money.

I must of been lucky with my private servers before now then. Either that or i just view having a donations button with a reward as something way different to what endless does. If they said everyone who donates more than $1 gets a pet, $10 gets a fairly rare mount, then like $50 gets the scarab mount and that’s it. I feel like that comes across way better to me than the shop they have right now.

To me the store now combined with allowing real world trading through the store feels like a store designed to really maximise profits beyond what even retail wow does. Where as attaching a pet or mount to a donation, just feels like an incentive to donate, and does not open up real world trading in the same way as endless coins.

Warmane was just like that, and had tbc, wotlk and cats servers.
It was up for years. The only legit pserver I know existed was Nostalrius. Both Elysium and lightshope had no real money shop but both had corrupt some GMs selling you gold for RMT and then banned you after >.<

And people wonder why I don’t play on pirate servers.

Most if not all pservers start white & fluffy with only donation for support, and end up selling every bit of content once they get big enough of playerbase.

I would not say Blizzard servers will be any better, with GDKP raids every piece of gear going to have its strict price, and reserving stuff is something that we already treat as granted while on pserver normally you would get no PMs and mocked in “world” chat as a bonus.

wait until you hear about warmane, you can literally sell and buy characters, gears and legendaries. private servers usually suck because its pay2win at pvp.

Until TBCC is out, I dont really care.

At the end of the day Endless just make people more hyped for TBCC meanwhile they wait for Beta.

Regarding their shop, no surprise they cannot manage a server for free.
