How's the hype? (Honest answers only!)

Moderate. Excited to have an actual reason to play again but at the same time, Blizzard once again proved they don’t listen to feedback once they made up their mind. Just look at DK Us/Eu feedback and check what did blizzard do regarding the most talked about issues with our class.

I’m a clown, the hype just hadn’t kicked in yet.

I need Blizzard to drop some epic CGI cinematics with Xal’atath and the World Soul and the Nerubians and all that jazz. If those short stories are all we’re going to get…

But surely they have something planned in the next month? Gamescom is August 21-25, so I’m guessing they’ll premiere something there.

It’s a bit late to really build hype, but better late than never.

It’d be weird if they didn’t. They have done since legion. Tho hearthstone usually has a cool trailer and didn’t this time so maybe wow won’t do these

Mid to High.

It’s looking pretty great, but we’ll have to wait and see.

I mean we did have some of that recently, actually. The release date trailer did feature a CGI Xal’atath and World Soul.

No CGI Nerubians though. Feels like Blizzard are very scared of showing off spiders without a way for people to change it, so no Nerubians in the cinematics.

Hype’s gone after reading that we’ll have to wait nearly a full month post launch to be able to play M+ and mythic raids.

Time-gating only for a few RTWF raiders is so lame. Blizz needs to stop designing the game for those players.

Indeed, they should not make big decisions like this thinking only about those players.

Yeah, but I also remember getting a trailer with a CGI Jailer that never appeared again, ever.

So I’m a little cautious, but hopeful also.

I’m surprised at this move and I understand the sentiment (from players) that it seems to be punishing us all in order to slow down RWF. An event that isn’t even endorsed by Blizzard.

The more they punish the general playerbase with stuff like this, the more I just want to see it moved to a tournament realm so we can just have normal progression for the rest of us.

Only 3 things would give me a modicum of hype.

  1. Abolishment of faction barrier
  2. Abolishment of transmog restrictions
  3. Tank spec for my fav class, warlock.

Im honestly quite excited to play with my friends again. new zones look nice with some optional grinds i can’t wait to sink my teeth into, the hero talents mostly feel good and add flavour to classes i never thought I’d enjoy as much as I have. Warbands adds some very welcome QoL changes. Delves seem quite fun and can’t wait to get my hands on them. Im actually looking forward to try out the new expansion.

I think it’s also just to stretch the lifespan of the initial content.

I think they know that many players will level to max and then complete the Season objectives and then cancel their subscription until the next Season.
So the longer they can withhold people from completing their Season objectives, the longer they can keep people playing.

It does stagger the release schedule a bit, which deflates some of the hype.
On the flip-side there’s something to look forward to every week.

Gearing is awful in raids with group loot so M plus was a way to actually get stuff. So we’ll have a hard week ahead before we get to gear. Just seems a poor decision.

Staggers the manic mythic plus gearing by a week. Might get more profession alts to cap.

I don’t know, we’ll see.

Personally I’ve always quite enjoyed that initial max level experience where there’s value in gear coming from a myriad of places. You’ll see people with quest items, rare drops, crafted stuff, a mix of PvE and PvP items, and stuff they’ve bought.
That always feels more MMORPGish to me, versus the moment that the Seasonal content opens up and everyone gets funneled through the same gearing and optimization process.

Gearing has been awful from raids since forever.

Was bearable in Legion due to increased drops and 3x bonus, but then that got nerfed from BFA and up…

As someone who farms the LFR sets usually via alts, it’s been awful going back to GL. You just don’t get anything. So now I have a mega army to farm with in the future.

The catalyst and vault are often they way I get normal look with alts and then my main has to catalyse stuff for hc and higher.

I went a whole tier without my bis trinket under GL. Hate it.

Least with PL the odds of getting that one item you wanted was about 50% after 13 attempts. Think it’s about the same odds with GL, but yeah GL feels even worse since you know that other people intentionally rolled for something you wanted.

honestly not hyped at all , the talents looks cool tho but i have low expectations from blizzard lately…
