Human identification question

Hello there!

I am very new to RP. Brand new actually! I have the story sorted for my character to begin RPing. But I was wondering if Humans of Stormwind have any sort of identification documents?
Would my character be able to join the official military of the Alliance if he has no identification what so ever? Can I look for a company that fights the Horde on premise that Alliance military won’t accept me as my character has no identification at all?

Thank you in advance!

The rp community generally isn’t that strict. We usually skip such details like identification. Instead, some ic questions will be made and if your char fits said guild, most likely your char only needs to sign a document to enter the guild, proving that your char accepts the terms.

Here is an example:
(rules of this military guild starts at the 3rd skull, so just skipp it and start to read where it says “Of conduct”)

Great stuff!
So how is the official Horde/Alliance military viewed in the RP community? Do people claim to be Soldiers and still join Guilds/Clans/ etc?

Guilds are basically smaller organizations affiliated -or- associated to the official military.

For exemple The Rotgarde started as an organization attached to the Hand of Vengeance, later when wotlk ended it made more sense to attach the Rotgarde to the Queensguard. So basically we are a Queensguard organization.

Other examples are The Battlegroup Misery, which is a group that accepts members from various guilds and guildless characters too. It is associated with the Defilers since the beginning of the conflict in Arathi. We assist the Defilers by gathering resources and fighting for Arathi. Instead of using guild, we use discord. (because you obviously can’t be in multiple guilds oocly, but ic you can…)

That being said, your char can join multiple as long as it makes sense / you have time for that.

Brilliant! That clears things up.
Thank you for your time! <3

No probs man, make a Forsaken instead.

Hah!

Hehe
Forsaken was always one of my favourite races. If not “the favourite”. It seems a little more complicated to roleplay than human, maybe I am mistaken…
The character I have in mind wouldn’t fit a Forsaken as my story begins being a child, then adulthood is when I start my journey and eventually my character turns into the Death Knight.
I could join the Forsaken once my character is a Death Knight and Humans exile him for turning into an undead by his own will. Interesting…

Also, what is the deal with New Forsaken? Could I pull off a character who has been turned Forsaken very very recently?

Identification seems to be handled on recruitment, as evidenced by people signing up at the alliance base in Borean Tundra.

But as Hungarø correctly stated there isn’t any formal procedure beyond what you might think would fit for your character.

Adventurers for example are used all the time and no one really seems to take note of their identities.

you could, as the forsaken always need new troops they likely haven’t stopped raising new forsaken even with their homeland destroyed

personally I rolled a recently raised forsaken who died in the 2nd war and mistakenly think the 2nd war is on-going.

Wouldn’t that mean they’re hostile to Orcs, and the Horde though?

it would if he wasn’t a former Alterac human loyal to his nation.
they sided with the orcs and when it was found out, they were destroyed by the human alliance.

That sounds very interesting, well done.

There you go, if you wish to do that rp just ask me in game and I can organize a resurrection event in Deathknell.

Humans in the Alliance have dog tags and other insignia to identify them.

I think that is a military thing
not every human in the alliance is military though

Would you accept another Horde race Death Knight? Death Knights are basically undead?

“”“Basically”“” you are right.
there is more to them than just undeath though.
speaking of, I had this thought, why isn’t there more blood elf DKs in forsaken guilds, just roleplaying undead elven forsaken? surely there logically speaking should be some among the forsaken since they consist of both the humans of lordaeron and possibly eversong woods, if not I am sure there were at least some high elves in Lordaeron when arthas went on his murder spree.

That’s an excellent point.

That’s because game mechanics dont permit for a belf to talk gutterspeak sadly. so ye you can rp a forsaken elf but only on a normal forsaken model. But you can use toys if you have.

I think as a horde DK you can instead join Grim gest, which is a good guild (no pun intended…) And is led by a Forsaken and has close ties to Forsaken

And for the original post, it’s basically like what Hungaro said, although you may have an insignia which shows your rank and allegiance, nothing complicated

Good luck and Have fun!
