Hunter Feign Death+Freezing Trap macro wont work

Back in Vanilla I played a Hunter (amongst others) and was using a Feign Death+Freezing Trap macro wich worked perfectly fine. Now I have found a couple of different ones that are supposed to do the same thing in Classic. One of problems are that macros don’t work the same way in Classic as it did in real Vanilla wow. Also in real Vanilla wow you drop out of combat the moment you Feign Death even if your pet was still attacking. In classic you don’t. In classic you wont drop out of combat until you Feign Death AND tell your pet to stop attacking. The different macros I found looks like this

From classic wowhead and Icy Veins:

#showtooltip Freezing Trap
/cast Feign Death
/petpassive
/cast Freezing Trap

And from reddit:

/petpassive
/petfollow
/stopattack
/cast [combat] Feign Death
/cast Freezing Trap

None of these works reliable. I personaly find they work in about 60-70% of the time. The times they don’t work, what happens is that the Freezing Trap is never placed. Theres alot of other threads out there about this so I know it’s not only me. Here is a video describing the problem:

Classic Hunter Macros - Traps (Feign Death, Bugs, and Workarounds)

I know people have tried to come up with a reliable macro for this but it seems it can’t be done with the way macros work in Classic wow. This is kind of a crucial macro especially for PvP but also for PvE. If your trap don’t get placed as it should, you are most likely dead.

Please look into this. Thanks.

There’s a gigantic thread on the US server since beta… but they did nothing.

Thank you so very much.

How could they mess this up so badly? It’s been more than 2 (TWO) solid months and this is STILL bugged.

Not even the shadiest of shady private servers would leave such a game breaking (or rather class breaking) bug in the game for this long. Hunters are completely gimped in PvP against other classes (particularly melee), as well as PvE (FD + explosive trap into a pack of mobs).

I do apologize for the tone of this post, but I would really expect a company of Blizz-vision’s resources to be able to handle this issue with precision.

I feel so stupid doing FD, only to have to it bug out, while I’m still in combat, not being able to trap. I’m sure that my other group members get a kick out of it though.

This one can be made more reliable if you own a programmable keyboard.

How is that (I don’t have a programable keyboard)? F.e it still wont change the fact that you don’t leave combat when you feign death until you tell your pet to stop attacking. Back in Vanilla you DID leave combat as soon as you feign death wether you told your pet to stop attacking or not. As Classic is attempting to function and behave like it did back in Vanilla there is clearly something wrong here. Don’t know if you read the seccond post where Kyph linked me this blue post: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/feign-death-trap-bug/278131/382

So Blizzard are obviously aware of that there are an issue and that they are working on a fix. The thing is, that blue post is now 28 days old and it’s still not working properly.
