AS MM what would you raid with and what would you PvP with?
I’ve been a little too distracted with rl stuff to be fully in touch with Classic’s PvE meta but with PvP it comes down to whether you want to be visually annoying(bat) or have a cat for utility when it comes to defence.
Thanks … Remembering playing vanilla as a caster the bat was the most visually annoying thing that ever happens … That’s why I tamed it -and the 1.0 AP push back.

Broken tooth all day every day. Bite, claw, dash, stealth as active abilities.
Bat with screech and growl can be used for solo content.
Wolves and wind serpents were good in Vanilla, when pet AI was retarded, pets tried to attack a boss from the front and got cleaved. Now they run to the closest part of the boss (be it side or back), so can actually be used for DPS. And a kitty with ony buff+hakkar buff is no joke.

BrokenTooth is my 1’st pick mainly vs casters, it tears them to shreds. I have it with maxed frost and shadow resist specifically vs mages and warlocks.
When i start facing premades i switch to the scorpion for draining their mana. Was pleasantly surprised to see how effective it is in long fights.
If you’re BM cats have the highest dps potential, especially if you buff them with scrolls and juju’s due to Claw spam. With that being said the bat’s -100 AP is pretty sweet for helping out the tank surviability during raid progression.
Cats are still highest DPS even in MM.
Yeah cats are overall the highest DPS pet. Screech can take up a debuff slot so it might not be ideal for raiding. Haven’t tried wind serpent, I guess they’re better if you micro manage them on fights that your pet might get killed & can’t attack, but tbh with some minor pet control you can put a cat on most bosses in the current raids no problems.
If you’re NE then obviously broken tooth is the pet to have for PvP, as it makes you an excellent defender in both WSG & AB. A bat is much easier to get though and I believe the annoying screech ability and size of the bat model can be especially annoying in PvP. I mean get both and see what you like best. Broken tooth is a pain to get though I would suggest trying to get it now during layering, as the place was always heavily contested before layering was added.
For PvP you want a Cat, or a ZG bat (annoys the hell out of people), or a raptor.
The reason is, Cats and Raptors have the highest damage modifier in the game. Look it up at Petopia.
YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO ORGANIZED PVP WITH A ZG SNAKE, EVER.
The reason is that ZG Snakes do nature dmg through lightning breath, and that damage is NEGATED by the Mage Buff DAMPEN MAGIC which every single mage in PvP and their brother and their little sister use. In addition, in mass organized PvP, 6 out of 10 players are Mages.
Also , 1/2 World Gankers out there (50%) are Mages. The remainder 45% is Warriors and 5% is Rogues.
For raiding, raid with a wolf to buff melees.
Lastly ZG snake is the best pet you can use for solo grinding b/c of the fact that it does nature dmg and bypasses armor. This works out to doing more damage versus mobs with low magic resistances.
Note: While everyone and their little sister in these forums spam abt Broken Tooth, I reached Rank 10 in PvP WITHOUT Broken Tooth. I don’t think Broken Tooth is essential for destroying casters. You just need to know how to play your hunter.
I played Beast Mastery in PvP and used a 1.4 speed level 60 Pridewatcher from Winterspring b/c I cba with Brokentooth. Works just fine. Darkshore lvl 19 Cats also come with 1.2 attack speed if you are interested.
