I am ilvl 187 BM Hunter, and ilvl 170 Warlock. Even as BM hunter with tenacity pet, or Demonology Warlock with Felguard, their HP is 81% and 75% of the main character’s HP respectively. In numbers:
This does not scale well in Torghast where you make a conscious decision, or are forced by RNG, to take a +HP anima power - but the pet does not scale with it.
Also how can my Bear tenacity pet or my Felguard have less HP than me?
For PvE purposes at least, please buff tenacity pets to follow the main character’s HP.
Have you done layer 8 final boss in Torghast? Goxul the Devourer. He killed my pet with Mend Pet and Spirit Mend on CD. So did other bosses to my Warlock’s pet. Yes it is an extra challenge, you got to withdraw your pet, give it breathing space, if you can, wait for Mend Pet to catch up - however the boss gets stacks as you are dancing around.
Depending on your anima powers of course. I did layer 7 and had insane animas. On layer 8, I had cr*p. Took me two tries to kill the final boss and I was lucky I did not make many mistakes.
And from lore’s point of view, how can my Bear or Felguard have less HP than me? Does not seem right.
Basically as Hunter either you run BM with a clefthoof or scale hide or your pet is useless and dies to a random mob sneezing at him. It’s frustrating.
200 slots hunter stables were a great change and I’ve personally filled mine very quick, but what’s the point when you can’t even use most of your pets anyway?
It should also be possible to spec our pet into ferocity, cunning, tenacity, etc regardless of its appearance. Especially now you’ve hard nerfed spirit mend. We get all these cool pet skins but we can barely use them.
Yeah, no, our classes revolve around their pets. Right now they’re too squishy and it hampers our classes hard. We are pets classes, our pets are supposed to be good and they were until recently.
I use a ferocity pet due to the 15% leech its the only decent way to get pet survivability, Tenacity pets are trash and yes I’ve cleared Difficulty 8 of Torghast my pet sometimes gets 1 to 2 shot but I just have to use my traps and revive the pet although I find after reviving them they go down faster than before.
Also sometimes no matter what you do some Torghast bosses will ignore your pet and you just die miserably. Lost a run to that. And yes I have a misdirection macro and used all the tools in my possession. Happens in old Legion raids too. Fun.
Yes, pets have less HP then the PC; thats how it has always been… And with comonly sold Anima powers giving +50% HP, that issue is resolved by just buying those from the brokers. And even a 50K hp pet is not going to live long when pulling a whole room. So pull smarter if thats the issue.
And few other small tips: do be aware that all mobs, including the ‘bosses’ are cc-able. So if you need to, just stun, fear, freeze or otherwise cc the mob(s) and move your pet out of range for healing.
And also: run and reset works for most mobs; just like in the normal open world. So if you overpull, use that to your advantage.
if you are engaging a big elite use the heal on cooldown and you will do just fine for the hunter the lock same tacts i have both and i can solo some of the hardest hitting elites in game that way and both of them are 160 item lvl.
Like, my memory of playing warlocks since all the way back during vanilla; it was never so that a 'lock primary demon had more HP…
And you? Got any data yourself?
