Hunters Mark

So let me get this right.
You remove most cc abilities, you remove explosive shot that was one of the coolest abilities out there, you remove kill shot from all but MM. All in the name of making it easier and more approachable with less bloat.

But you leave in HUNTERS MARK?! the boring “censored swear word” button you have to click one time before every single encounter to add a buff to damage done?
Just make it a passive debuff on one of the hunters combat abilities.

agree on both front binding shoot will be near useless with nothing to manually active it (ie) bursting shoot implosive trap with are both going away in midnight so unless the tank needs to kite with seldom happens binding shoot will be near useless and when it comes to hunters mark they should do what they did in cata where cobra/arcane shoot apply hunter mark either that or remove it from the gcd as a near 20 year hunter main my hype for midnight is near none existent at this time

At least it no longer only works when the target is above 80% now. There’s a point to press it, because in all honesty I’ve been slacking with my Hunter’s Mark. The key has been getting dusty. There’s just not a whole reason to press it right now because targets other than raid bosses only stay above 80% health for three seconds.

But I agree, Hunter’s Mark is still a bit of a boring ability, even with the change. Maybe an animation and a spell effect, like a big glowing X “lock-on” type effect on the target would maybe make the ability feel a little better to press? It’s not an ability that really feels satisfying to press.

Coming at the pruning from a Survival angle as that’s what I main, I can’t fathom why they’ve removed Explosive Shot and Killshot from SV, considering they’re giving it a more clear and defined tinkerer/gadgeteer/chaos fantasy in Midnight with the addition of Boomstick.

Could it be that abilities are added back to specs once Midnight is out and Blizzard gets a better lay of the land? Perhaps? Maybe?

It is not useless. You can F up any stealther in the game. Its the best tool to deal with stealthers since classic.

No, been a case of a talent in BFA and this post i made back then allowed Hunter mark to be a spell only revealing stealth baseline in shadowland
and it was the best version of hunter mark

If it is made PvP talent it would be considered like removed due to not getting enought value compared to other honor talent.

I don’t see raid teams wanting to miss out on a 3% raid-wide damage increase. That’s one of the strongest raid-wide buffs in the game now. I know, it’s a debuff really but same difference.

I’ll just ignore it outside of raid bosses, dungeon bosses and particularity chunky elites or rares… same as always… but it pretty much guarantees Hunters a raid spot, even if their personal DPS balance isn’t too hot.

Yea, ofc. But the buff could be added passively trough other talents instead of a boring extra click before combat even begins.

You’d lose control over it then though and it can only be active on one target at a time.

If it activated passively then a Hunter would have to stay trained on the target they want it on or avoid using skills that trigger it if they need to DPS down some adds, meaning less DPS on targets they don’t want to put Hunter’s Mark on.

For me, I’d just like it changed to be off the global cooldown. That way anyone that doesn’t care about having full control over it can just macro it onto another ability or something.

Hunter’s mark has been present in the game since the begining.
It is one of the best hunter abilities for pvp .
Stop crying and be grateful they are preserving the original traits of the class. Whats next ? you want to remove track humanoids / beasts ? Remove Feign Dead ?
Get a grip my guy. Some of us actually enjoy PvP.
