Hunter/warlock pets ignoring stealth

Is anyone else experiencing this? Hunter/warlock pets keep chasing you even after going into stealth and it’s really annoying. Is this intended or a bug?

I’ve seen this happen multiple times, after a rogue vanishes or stealths my pet keeps chasing him if he was en route.

Hehe, it’s been a long number of years since I saw one of these posts. Make me feel young again.

Pets can smell stealthed players. Sorry, but that’s the way it is.
/working as intended.

Amuses the hell out of me when I drop Inferno on a Rogue

It has always worked this way - pets are completely uncontrollable - take their own path and stay locked to targets

Vanish should stop the pet attacking you unless it randomly fails which it often does.

Restealthing won’t stop a pet from chasing you.

This is the spell batching’s fault and the same reason why feign death doesn’t work most of the time when mobs are whacking you on the head.

Yep, it’s really frustrating sometimes. I usually try and gouge the pet before vanishing

Interesting, I have no problem with FD against mobs, only in PvP, especially battlegrounds.

Its wow classic. And this bug exists since release.

I read a few weeks back that it was fixed but when that was said, I started to notice it hapenning… Maybe by fixing it they increased the chance it happens:p

I noticed it in DM when fighting the scorpion group. Sometimes their attacks batch together with your FD and you never exit combat, or at least that’s my theory.
For rogues seems to be a whole different issue of not resetting the pet target.

Are you sure you didn’t accidentally move or turn in that moment?
From what I’ve observed, you can get hit while feigned without any problems, so extra hits even if they are batched and happen after the FD shouldn’t break it. So its either you broke it yourself or it was a resist IMO, both are easily fixable.

It is a game feature, not a bug.

(Wolves and dogs and big cats can smell humans from miles away)

It works exactly as it worked in Vanilla.

This only happens when the rogue stealths not when they vanish.

Rogue vanish in Classic is OP beyond belief and broken as it absorbs all kinds of spells and hunter abilities such as serpent sting and it doesn’t kick them out of stealth. It’s as if Vanish also comes with CLOAK OF SHADOWS bundled. This is NOT like Vanilla.

It’s technically not a ‘bug’. And moreover this hunt/lock pet behaviour will continue to exist even in TBC.

The question is: Are you still for #nochanges ?
