Hey there!
With phase 2 right around the corner I’m looking at specs that will shine for raids as well as world bosses and WPvP, as I’m not too keen on burning 100g on respecs each week.
I’m currently toying with an 0/15/36 elementalist variant that keeps Winter’s Chill, Elemental Precision and Piercing Ice so I won’t hold my raid group back, and picks up Impact, Ignite, Burning Soul and Shatter-friendly talents for that PvP goodness. Forums won’t let me link talent tree, sadly.
Does anyone have any cool, new or old ideas?
Arcane/Frost with frostbite. Skip fire (although you could ignite shazzrah ;)). Get two freezing bands. Craft int/sta/crit gear for pvp (archmage belt, gloves, cap of Scarlet savant)…
100?? It caps at 60… so if you raid once a week that is 120g at least.
I have a solution for you… raids been cleared with 50s in greens… just raid in your PvP spec… if your guild are try hard titts, find a new one…hell, f joining a raiding guild… most are bunch of crooks anyways with loot council or other mechanisms of pure favoritism… Pugging would get you geared 9/10 times faster… and that goes until Naxx… but then again Naxx won’t be cleared by more than 1% of players anyways and is long ways away… so why even bother worrying about it.
Yeah just raid in your pvp spec. Unless your guild or raid are super tryhard they will barely notice.
That’s definitely one solution, but being a try-hard-tit myself, I want to play and raid with fellow try-hard-tit$ who want to compete for server firsts and not wipe on Shazzrah
. That’s why I’m looking for a good compromise that lets me PvP without slowing my hard t1tty guild down on Wednesdays.
Freezing bands is rly bad for pvp
Pls dont say ur tryhard if you dont respec for raids and pvp lol
120g for a mage is 2h of farming, and any guild with half a brain raids on tuesday and wednesday every 2 weeks. 2h of farming every 2 weeks is hardly what i would call time consuming
Everything is relative, I suppose. Tryhard in the sense that I want to be the 1% both in PvE and PvP. But yeah, time is precious and raids will probably stay at once a week on wednesdays, so I’m still very keen to actually discuss the option of hybrid specs ;*
You wont be even close to 1% if you dont respec
Reroll another mage - spec 1 for pvp and 1 for pve; gold problem solved
Call it…Kifer
What about a 17/0/34 or 20/0/31 or even 31/0/20?
That said, playing my first mage ever, after some 10 or so years.

If you are about to start raiding with a guild… just try raiding in your PVP spec. you don’t need to min-max, it’s not required in order to down bosses.
If you really suck for some reason then I guess respect and see what balance you can try to strike but I would be very surprised if you couldn’t do a good job of DPS in a raid, in a PVP spec.
Are you going to be flasking, using dark runes and mana pots on cd, getting full world buffs ?
Depends how good the guild is. If the rest of the guild is in proper specs you are going to be bottom of the barrel, and they will kick you for slacking
Please explain the question related to my comment, no native speaker, do not get what and why you would like to know that.
If my guild was going to kick me for being only a competent and good player rather than the best player ever then it’s not a guild I’d want to be in.
There is no need to treat the game like it’s 25-man Mythic when its more like LFR difficulty.
If you arent respecing when everyone else is u are slacking and getting carried. If you dont put in the effort, dont expect to be able to play in a guild made of people that do. It wont happen
You’re missing the point. Guilds don’t need to be hardcore in order to progress successfully. no I would not apply for a spot in Method with this atittude. But 90% of guilds do not need to take the game that seriously to beat the raids.
