I am once again asking for more "safeguard rails" for new players in Mythic+

I’m ignoring the insults now.

Nothing good is coming of it.

Well, I certainly did. Hence I stopped responding in general.

Shall the others crush each others skulls in arguing. I said my piece and everything else is up to the Devs at Blizzard.

you can buy score, the entire time that is possible your “score” means nothing. It should be a solo test

It is absolutely not lol, not a single warlock in top Algethar Academy keys. Fire mage and shadow priest outclass it easily.

If i remember correctly they added journal in CATA and they tried to teach people how to play wow in MOP
They added Proving ground for that reason if i’m not mistaken
Didn’t worked.
Nothing will ever help someone if that person doesn’t want help
Most people that play wow just play wow because nowadays it’s basically SIMS
put cool clothes on your character and ride some cool MOUNT
There is not many people that cares about performance these days.

Nor should they/we.
It’s a videogame and it’s meant to be played for fun or enjoyment.
If your enjoyment is min/max or being #1 on the parsing logs, then by all means go for it.
But you cannot enforce, or expect this from everyone you come across in the game.
Something a lot of people have a hard time understanding.

For raw overall damage it’s better, for priority / single target / spec synergy / stops it’s not. Destro’s potential DPS on some of the pulls in AA is unmatched, but that’s not good enough to earn it a spot on its own.

And the topic was “Does destro do good damage?” And not “Is destro Meta?”

And you couldn’t buy the solo score? :man_facepalming:

Can you think further than the tip of your nose when thinking up “ideas” for once?

And this causes friction in M+ or any other end-game content where a level of skill is expected where some think that “playing sims” in a +10 for example is acceptable.

And then we have the old fireworks of “Toxic elitist versus U cant force me to play good!” flare up again…

You can see what runs I’ve done.

So nope, not bought. Quite obviously not bought.

No to gatekeeping content behind stupid pointless achievements that do nothing but delay and hinder and are meaningless as to their skill to be able to do the content.

You don’t even have to minmax to be able to clear max reward keys, even a bit beyond that. If you go beyond that, you should start paying attention to your performance because people will for sure leave if the performance is horrible.

Like, I went with my druid as resto on first day of the season and cleared a 10. I have like no clue how current resto druid plays, I’ve barely played it since I mained it in season 3 of SL. I died to stuff that could’ve been prevented, because I’m not used to playing a resto druid, I’ve played holy priest for so long now that I forgot to even use ironbark on myself, in my mind it was a “I use this on someone else”.

I’m not minmaxing but some of the people you run into in this game… You have to wonder if they’re even looking at the screen with how they play.

OP ideas will unfortunately not help for a myriad of reasons already mentioned throughout the post:

  • Score means nothing. Too many people get carried to 2500+ rio and are useless.

  • Ilvl doesn’t help very much neither. A good player performs well even with slightly less ilvl than recommended.

  • The game doesn’t teach fundamental mechanics, and struggles with an ever ageing UI.

An improved version of the proving grounds is likely a solution though implementing the correct way is a tougher task than it sounds.

Alternatively they could look into UI changes and adding more tiers of spells instead of “can be interrupted” and “uninterruptible”. They could add priority casts where for example a standard shadow bolt will have simpler looking cast bar whereas a big heal or horrid CC spell that really needs to be interrupted has a more elaborate looking one. That would be the games way of saying “I know there are loads of casts going on but you should really focus on this one”. In a way it neuters the game, but maybe it’s the only way to educate certain players in the importance of interrupting key casts.

Punys right. Higher score means more likely to be better but theres no guarantees

Mythic+ will set a certain requirement for sure in order to be able to clear it.
But again, you do not need to be geared out in BiS gear and be parsing top 1% to clear Mythic+ dungeons unless you’re running the absolute top.

You can totally clear lower dungeons just fine without that.

100% agree with this.

Couple of sweats complain, that there is not enough gatekeeping in the game /thread

I had a holy priest spam flash heal in a 6, details said something like 20% and it was on the top of the list of spells casted and they were always OOM - this isn’t how you play holy priest is it?

If that was the case then M+ would be absolutely “toxec” free.
Unfortunately we see people who appears to have the “gear for the job” yet fails even at basic dont stand in :poop: mechanics…

Well, that goes without saying, just because you got the gear collected, doesn’t mean you’re automatically a good player…
Some people learn slower, others are…just bad. Don’t even know how to say it better or sugarcoat it. Some people just don’t…vibe with dungeons.

I am not a specialist in holy priest but it looks like a crapton of spam of flashheal.
