I am so lost at 60 lvl

I just hit 60 lvl with my rogue but i am really unsure what to do. People told me silithus is the latest zone so i went there to do quests as usual, but i didnt find anyone. And then people said silithus quests are useless after last patch, so i am kinda lost. Why are there quests if they are useless for the current patch? I am reading so much guides but i am really tried, i just wanna chill and kill. I am trying to complete BRD quests still but people neglect me most of the time. And i feel bad when i cannot complete my quests because i cannot proceed to next dungeon with my quest log full.

From player power perspective the best gear is in latest raids so quests aren’t “the best” - even when Cenarion Circle in Silithus and Argent Dawn in Plaguelands have turn in quests for epic gear (some items are really good for some classes).

If you are a new level 60 then don’t look at current state BiS lists as you aren’t raiding Naxx and AQ40 and alike for that gear. Just do what you want to do.

Progressed Classic realms are like that. People did those quests when the realm was fresh and they leveled their first characters or tried to squeeze every little gold at 60 from quests. Now most have enough level 60 characters or just boosts new ones and do not quest.

Look for your realm discord via google - try asking there if there is anyone leveling “normally” and band together on those quests and dungeons. Progressed realms have really bad experience for “normal” leveling and new players.

When TBC prepatch lands there will be more activity although it still may not be as fun as expected. If Blizzards adds FRESH realms then there will be the best opportunity for normal leveling and much less quest obsolescence.

Quests primarily exist to give you exp while leveling. Since you are capped (you reached the levelcap) they are not that useful to you any more (they still give gold, and some even have decent gear rewards).

As WoW is a progression-centered game, and progression is achieved via obtaining gear, your next step is to, well, get gear  There are certain craftable items that you can either make yourself, let someone make for you, or buy from other players. These are ususally a good starting point (hint: Devilsaur Leather).

There is also gear from high level 5man dungeons that you can obtain. Some of these require a key to unlock, however you can ghost through most of the doors, and many people have the keys and can open the doors for you. Strath UD/Living, Scholomance, LBRS, UBRS, are your relevant Dungeons.

Then there is PvP. You can do Battlegrounds to get Reputation with each BG faction, which lets you buy epic quality gear (PvP centered statwise). If you do alot of PvP, you may even buy your class specific PvP Set after ranking up. If you do ALOT of PvP you may even get the epic set. This option becomes far more interesting btw. when the TBC prepatch hits, as you no longer need to rank up to buy the rank14 gear by then.

And lastly, there are raids, where the best gear is obtained. The higher Raids (AQ40, Naxx) are out of reach for a fresh60, unless you have some friends willing to bring you along (and in the case of Naxx, give you the mats for attunement). However, there are, luckily, a lot of lower level raids, which also give nice gear, and have very little to no requirement in terms of your gear, because you usually have enough well geared people in PuGs anyway. ZulGurub, AQ20, MC, Ony and BWL is what you’re looking for. Note: The latter 3 require the completion of raid-attunement quests.

Since most people running these raids these days do so for few very specific items, and a lot of drops end up being disenchanted, there is a good chance that a fresh 60 can gear up very qickly. I would familiarize myself with the most common loot-distribution systems (prio3, ownslist, prio1 and dkp), and then plan my raids accordingly. Many PuGs are organized well and run regularly, being a regular in such PuGs (most raids have a weekly lockout, so PuGs run once a week) is a good way to find companions ingame.

Once you geared up to about MC-BWL standards, most AQ40 PuGs will accept you without trouble. Naxx PuGs are harder to get into, as they have usually a steep gear requirement (as it is the hardest raid in the Game). To do Naxxramas, I reccomend finding a raiding Guild later in your journey.

I hope this was helpful, if you have further questions, let us know.

Welcome to World of Warcraft, I hope you have a nice time and an enjoyable game!

Well as a Rogue the best thing you can do is to obtain your T0.5 as the 5 piece set bonus is very useful and it’s actually better than most raid gear you can get pre AQ40

To do this though you need to run dungeons to get Shadowcraft gear and then start the T0.5 quest chain that will send you all over the world and to certain dungeons.

The problem is however that not many players run dungeons nowadays because gear upgrades are obtainable from all the raids available and the gear is mostly superior to dungeon gear.

So the best thing you can do is try to find other players that want to run dungeons although it won’t be easy perhaps try find a helpful guild that will help you run these dungeons.

You could always just join pug runs to AQ20 and ZG for now and do the attunements for MC/BWL and join pugs to try gear up.

And then people make the claim that only boosted people are clueless… I mean…

Now, on to helping you. Don’t worry about raiding (I mean do MC/BWL/ZG if you really want to). Don’t worry too much about gearing unless you really want to get some dungeon gear.
TBC will be out soon enough and once its out in all its 2.4.3 itemization glory… Anything you get in Classic will be utterly redundant (save for some special case raid stuff that might last you until pre-raid tbc - mostly just Naxx gear)

Playing computer games is “useless” in the first place.

That’s weird that they’d neglect a 60. Try to find a group specifically for quest run, with lvls 54+ or something.

And once you “close” BRD, I suggest to /join world and /join LookingForGroup, and simply apply to any group you see that goes to: LBRS, UBRS, Dire Maul (don’t go to Deadmines occasionally), Strat, Scholo, ZG, AQ20, MC, Onyxia (you need to complete the attunement quests for the latter two, but they’re both in BRD ssso).

That’s good gear indeed, but it takes months and a lot of gold. I wouldn’t start it as a fresh 60 newbie in the end of ph6.

yeah its not that important dungeon quests and world silithus quests

like at all,you can do them if you want, they give gold and such, what you want to do is attune to raids (you do not need to do anything to get attuned to ZG and AQ20, but you do for onyxias lair, MC, BWl and NAXX, onys lair is the worst attune, molten core attune is easy and can be solo’d especially since ur a rogue.

Watch some attunement guides, if you’re already attuned to some, or want to do zg. watch some quick guides and go sign up for some pug for them with some discord links and be online when they throw out invites

I assume you want pve stuff anyway, pvp atm is just spend all day all week doing pvp to get honor ranks to get pvp gear which doesnt really matter now

MC and ZG are pretty easy, bwl is lil bit harder and aq20 is kind of easy, aq40 difficulty is lil bit higher and naxx is hardest raid of classic

I would say do dungeons and attune to some raids, go join pve guild, do some stuff, do some low tier pug raid type stuff etc

Thanks all, i now have a better idea of my path. I am not going to TBC until i complete classic content. I wanna do all dungeons, raids, pvps.

Ye, start going after the first Rogue set from Scholo/Strat etc. After a while go for next set-level, or tag along for some of the ZG/MC pugs. That should be a good start and provide stuff to do for a while

Do the quests you can find in Silithius, Winterspring and Eastern plaguelands. Also type /join lookingforgroup and if someone wants to go Scholomance, Stratholme or Zul Gurub, try to join them.

pvp atm is just spend all day all week doing pvp to get honor ranks

You don’t need to spend “all day all week” to get honor ranks, you can do a few hours of PvP a week and easily get to R9-10 there’s far less players grinding honor nowadays so ranking is actually rather easy and not very time consuming.

I reached R14 on my Paladin in P4 and even then I would pre made Wed-Fri and be capped but have to play all day for those days. I recently hit R10 on my Rogue just from doing 2 hours of PvP a night with friends.

Yeah - I would not got for t0.5 as a fresh 60 either and would suggest gearing pre-raid from 5 mans and trying to get into MC, BWL, ZG and AQ20 pugs to gear from them.

After a while of running them and getting some pieces you’ll be good for AQ40!

Remember to have fun and just do silly things that are enjoyable and to not obsess over chasing the carrot on a stick (I don’t mean the trinket)

Don’t do this - T0 (Shadowcraft) is worse than the “clown set” pre raid BiS and is harder to get. Shadowcraft is only worth collecting if you want to make T0.5 Darkmantle as a tier set collector. There is better gear for less investment in the game that is also easier to obtain.

Ok, ye I was thinking from the perspective of wanting fun stuff to do.
Not from the perspective of getting to AQ gear as quick as possible.

Two different alternatives I agree.

In this case, going for T0 and T0.5 quest chain is to be considered. Once again, it’s quite time-consuming and expensive, but fun and rewarding, especially for a rogue.

Another mega quest chain to experience is Scepter of the Shifting Sands chain. But that may take like half a year, tons of grind, many raids, and a lot of people selflessly helping you.

Alternatively, you can just do every dungeon once or twice and proceed with the raids/world bosses.

just gear up with Aq20/ZG and do w pvp? rogues are inzane

you are actualy right, i wanna go step by step, i dont want the best gear asap. i wanna experience all patches as much as i can
