??? what you on about this time
I’m not dissing you, I’m saying it straight. If you walked around Forsaken lands, people would go “yo wtf??” so don’t be mad if that happens.
Agreed.
So here’s a crazy thought:
Multiplayer Darkest Dungeon
We got the arena thingy FLC for the first one. But imagine it being some form of co-op.
(I just want to experience the absolute dread, despair and sadness of Darkest Dungeon with my friends/guildies, because I can’t effectively stream it with my dial-up internet)
I could see that work really well actually, and I’d love that!
Also as a sidenote then. While it’s not the same genre(its lighthearted fantasy), Across the Obelisk is a good example of how that could work and a game I recommend. Its basically mixture of DD’s gameplay/style with Slay the Spire(So card abilities/decks). But like DD, you progress forward with a group of 4 characters. However each character can either be controlled solo, or by two players, all the way up to 4 players controlling their own character.
I think DD could do similiar.
I both like and dislike Butcher’s Circus. It’s fun enough and does its job, and I adore the asthetics and theme.
But the playerbase for the pvp is really annoying to deal with as so many sweat bleed stacks or just stress spam. And there are some odd balancing.(Man-At-Arms is stupidly powerful).
From dusk till dawn’s serpent vampires are pretty unusual.
I will never not be amused by how drastic of a turn the first movie takes. From a fairly decent gritty crime-drama to b-movie(good one though) super gorey vampire film(after about half the run-time too).
Blizzard, the creators of the game, have given us an option to create a Darkfallen (so I am not mimicing it via transmog or something). Which means that, though it was never explicitly shown in the game, at one point or another an undead elf was created and accepted into both the Horde and the Alliance. How that happened is up to the player, but it’s clear that now their character serves their respectful faction.
San’layn, as we speak, can also be Independent, and it was even highlighted in BfA (even if it backfired).
Your undead skinned blood elf is not a san’layn. If you insist otherwise, your character is basically kill on sight.
Sigh.
If you really want one, play a villain. We’ve had this discussion.
My undead skinned blood elf is an undead blood elf. And she is not a villain (well, not more than all other Forsaken).
To jump in again here with a slightly revelant question for the Undead/SW RP communities: How do you feel about Undead Night Elves in the Alliance?
As far as I know from in game (I haven’t RP’d on Alliance in a good while) the NE that got turned in Darkshore were present at the Undercity when the Desolate Council got reformed, but Im not sure if they stuck around. So I have no idea if there is a 'yes’or ‘no’ cannon atm.
For example: An Undead Night Elf Warrior who’s still loyal to their people, and therefore is Alliance. They hate their situation but are determined to use it to some benefit/goal rather than just jumping off a cliff, essentially like a DK. Is that concept acceptable to most folks? (Its certainly edgy, that one is a given haha)
Then what is the problem? There is no issue there.
Completly fine OOC, but some night elves IC might not be tolerating.
I’ve been asking this question throughout this whole thread. It all began when we started to discuss the attitude of the players towards the Undead, which spiraled into hot debates about what can and cannot be played
This question has previously sparked some heated debates and the results essentially boils down to there being two blocks:
Those who believe us simply being able to make Darkfallen night elves is proof enough that they got accepted into the Alliance…
…and those who believe that we need more proof than Velonara saying “those who wish to depart and rejoin the Alliance are free to do so” (the problem being that we never actually know if they were welcomed or not).
I just realised, Cross Faction guilds will be great for Undead RPers! You can have Darkfallen rangers, Alliance DK’s and OG Forsaken all together as ‘Forsaken Guild’ and use all the Plaguelands Zones for your RP. Just a little posative to add to this thread!
And a san’layn is a type of undead blood elf. Is your character san’layn or not? Are you actually trying to play a scourge character in the Horde or are you not? You continuous evasiveness about the character while adamantly insisting on the validity of the concept is grating.
I’ve tried to be helpful about this but if all I get is indignant dishonesty, I’m done trying.
One more attempt at a legitimate point, then; your argument that blizzard giving you the option to use a skin validates a certain concept is incorrect. We currently have no lore to validate it and Darkfallen (as the modern retcon undead elves, not san’layn vampires) are introduced as Sylvanas’ Dark Rangers; loyal to the Forsaken or deserting. This has already been a hot button issue with undead void elves and kaldorei dark rangers having no lore to support them being accepted by anyone or even existing at all.
Just because they didn’t make the Dark Ranger skin exclusive to hunters does not mean the Horde has san’layn.
Just don’t expect anyone to tolerate, praise or accept them anywhere, being undead and not even having the ebon blade to shelter them.
I can only speak for myself, but I think what has confused matter is that you have argued in defense for a concept you yourself don’t play(In itself that is completely fine, you can defend and justify concepts you don’t play).
But when said concept has been criticized, you have lashed out as if you personally had been attacked. Over something you don’t even do yourself?
That is the confusing part to me at least.
I do think Blizzard adding in the option in correlation with this entire ending/Velonara’s message was meant to indicate how it turned out for some of them.
But that is the issue, Blizzard will either never elaborate on this, or do so 6 patches from now or in a throwaway line in a book at some point.
On this aswell, they did give Sand Trolls, which have been shunned by both the Horde and the Zandalari very recently.
Fingers crossed we’ll get a random tweet about it.
