I can't download/update WOW

Hi I am currently having a issue with World of warcraft.
First I could not update the game so I contacted support and browsed the forums for any assistance.
I have tried all the fixes that I could find ( Fresh battle.net install, delete battle.net program data file, run as admin, run in beta mode, run in safe mode, add exception to antivirus and firewall, use a different ISP to download game) and so on. I have now uninstalled WOW but it won’t even download the game and is stuck trying to start. I am out of options and blizzard support does not seem to know what to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried to delete the World of Warcraft folder in Program Files(x86) ? When you uninstall WoW some files do get left behind for the game and battle.net in that folder.

Close battle.net completely before you delete it.

Hi and thanks for the reply.
I have already done this a few times.

Have you made any changes to Windows UAC or disabled it? Sometimes that can cause issues installing things.

Which anti virus are you using? If it’s not Windows and a third party have you tried temporarily disabling it to see if the downloading works then?

Not sure what else suggest, from your post it looks like you have tried everything else.

You could try creating a new local user account on windows to see if it’s an account/permissions issue.

I have just tried creating a new user on my computer as I have not tried that yet. It still didn’t work.

It’s a long shot, but have you made any changes to the windows hosts file or used any software that might of done so. Programs that block ads and such sometimes make changes to that file for example.

Edit:
Another poster suggested changing the download speed limits in battle.net. Though that was for slow speeds it might still be worth a try.

Delete the wow folder and install all from scratch again imo.

The nuclear option would be to use something like Revo uninstaller that will clean the registry also. You should recognise that there is always a risk to using these programmes, as they corrupt windows if they remove the wrong keys.

This did not work either.

I downloaded the program and deleted everything to do with battle.net and WOW. I still am having now luck.

Clutching at straws here, but,

Does your ISP block torrents? Some do.

I ask this because the blizzard installer uses the torrent protocol to download the game.

I don’t think so as I use torrents for other game downloads regularly and I used my phone as a tether which is a different ISP provider and that did not work also.
