I dont have enough gold for mount

Yes. That’s another thing to take into note. The gold gain and rewards from quests is substantially more after 40+

Step 1: Level together with a friend playing Warlock or Paladin
Step 2: Reach Level 40
Step 3: “Hey, you got a free mount? Great, then you can give me the Gold I’m missing, if you don’t you’ll have to wait for me to catch up all the time.”

Welcome to wow. I am 42.5 and I have a bit less than you. By 44 I will have it, you’ll have it earlier.
You don’t HAVE to buy it at 40 it’s not a hard cap - you can continue playing and buy it later. That’s the EARLIEST when you can get it not the latest. You might have misinterpreted it.

Bought my mount just as I hit level 41, the only things I bought were bags, first 10 slots and then 12 slots when they were cheaper.
You need room for everything you find, also skinning is a good way to go.
Vendor everything, I kept Heavy Leather which only now is starting to sell for more than the 30s you get from the vendor, I sold quite a lot to the vendor also.

Don’t buy all your spells, just the one’s you need, plenty of time to buy them later.
Being a Priest I was in SM pretty early and ran it a lot! Good money there.

Already paid for my Herb training up to 300, will dump Skinning very soon and level Alchemy with all the plants I have collected and never sold.

Now level 42 and back up to 20 gold having paid for the Herb training and buying some of the spells I missed.

Like I said just buy bags and NOTHING else, I even bought a couple of extra bank spaces for all the herbs, a lot of people use ‘Bank Alts’ but I really couldn’t be bothered with that.

Ye, I’m 42.5 or so and will buy the mount tonight, getting gold before 40 was slow for me but much faster after 40. It’s a bit more expensive to be a priest since I have to buy holy spells even though I’m shadow and drinks drain gold too. No big deal if you can’t afford it at 40, you’ll get it soon after.

Then its easy just farm 100 stacks for 1g and you can get easy 100g im gonna go farm now when I get home

I just got mine, after hitting 40, soon to be 41. Feels amazing. I had to sacrifice some spells which means that I’m around 10g short. But catching up to that tomorrow. The grind goes on, and it sure feels rewarding!

Level professions when mats are so low that you can buy them from the ah, craft and vendor the gear to get your money back or better, profit. First aid is easiest to level like this. This way you don’t need to put lots of money into professions but can start making gold by selling craftables. You don’t need to buy all recipies either, only those that you need. Patterns that are only drops, limited supply vendor or required in quests are good gold makers such as Enchanter’s Cowl and Robes of Arcana.

You can also store profession materials you gather when you level your main character on your bank alt, so you can use those materials to level a profession on another character too, saving you gold and time.

Alchemy + herb combined with fishing can even as early as lv 15 start making bunch of gold by fishing Oily blackmouth pools, making oils, gathering stranglekelp and then making water breathing elixirs. Druid in general can go gather expensive herbs for it’s level like stranglekelp super easily very early at lv 16.

At lv 40, skinning can get you mostly heavy leather but mobs from 40+ start dropping bunch of thick leather, which is sought after still even in the auction house. Heavy leather vendors for 1.5s each and thick leather vendors for 3s each.

Combine this with aoe farming mobs that you can not only skin, but drop expensive greys and you’ll swim in gold in no time. Such as the north spot of turtles in thousand needles, shimmering flats that drop shells worth roughly 9s each at lv 35. For low levels, hillsbrad foothills is the dream zone for skinner, later stranglethorn vale is very lucrative skinning wise. You can aoe raptors for days as mage.

Fishing mithril trunks though is free, lucrative, easy and doesn’t cost a penny to level up fishing. Then there’s also farming for some sought out, rare items such as elemental drops and bindings from arathi highlands or clams from nagas or watery beings which can drop pearls. Big-mouth clams for instance have chance to even drop golden pearls, a very sought out after item that sells for multiple gold each. Zesty clam meat on the other hand is needed for cooking quest to obtain artisan cooking.

At lv40, it’s quite possible to also solo low level dungeons for loot too. Ragefire chasm is very easy and you will get tons of linen, then there’s deadmines and shadowfang keep which both drop wool cloth and sfk has the chance to even drop super rare twink items.

There’s tons upon tons of ways to make raw gold and one doesn’t even need to play the ah to do so. All of my professions are sitting on 225+ atm and I’m not hurting for gold even after I bought my mount just after dinging 40, now at lv41 I’m working on getting my artisan cooking done and I need to go learn artisan skinning from feralas trainer.

Something i can reply to!
I had 145g when i hit 40, my secret being basilisk grinding and skinning/LW, currently 52 with 500g, 300/300 prof and all spells learned.

I will continue the grind and focus on skinnable targets.

I just want to pitch in and say that this is obviously a troll thread as OP hasn’t even bothered replying after +2 weeks and he only has 2 forum posts in total. So don’t bother…

I think i’m at like 18g at level 32, i’m not worried either way! I have an AH character building up data and he’s just started earning his first few golds  Even if i’m short at 39, i’ll just farm a little! Lot’s of easy ways to make gold in classic

Hey man, I’m also lvl 32 and have 25 golds. Not contesting, just good to know, how much golds is normal to have on this lvl.

Besides, the main incoming comes from AH selling clothes. It’s also good to run some dungeons solo (on our lvl I recommend WC, SFK, maybe BFD), loot everything and then sell it on AH. So much green items and maybe some blue BoE you can loot, that it would be shame to not utilize this grinding way.

Free barrels of Water and Milk all around the major cities, also boxes and boxes of food. If you don’t have enough money at level 40, you are not trying.

ask a level 60 for a fiery core and sell it for 100g on the AH i writed it in the other thread

I’m at 34 with 45 gold. I’m not doing anything extraordinary in order to earn gold, my salary comes mostly from vendoring grey trash, selling greens outside of AH to avoid fees, collecting leathers and turning them into utility stuff like quivers and ammo pouches (they always sell). I’m sure I’d be richer if I werent buying armor and weapons sometimes…

Welcome to Classic

Keep your head high.

Only learn blizzard spell and aoe spam, i only have max rank blizzard and cone of cold.

learn blink

Frostbolt is rank 3, frost nova rank 1 and the rest of the spell is like level 18 or 20, i dont even have scorch or any other useless abilities that i dont need at the moment.

Food and water is good to keep up to date and arcane explosion is optional.

Alway try to farm humanoids that drops cloth and beasts that drops item, avoid dungeon spam.

Only downside is that you cant fight back if you get ganked because all your spell is mostly for level 12-18.
