I don’t think people that makes this argument realize what that means for the game. Yes they are a business and they want to make a profit. But to make a profit you don’t just offer up products that people buy but you also cut back from costs that don’t make you that much profit.
In that sense bfa is an amazing expansion!
No cost developing class sets
Less costs on class balancing
Delay patch launches to offer up a new 6 month deal with a mount
Create simple, easy and very repetitive content to keep people busy
All of those make absolute sense. I would honestly not be surprised if bfa was making more money than any other expansion ever. Yes even more than having 10M subscribers.
11 june was pre-expansion…so basically it was considered a WoD release.

You buy your friend mount or boyfriend or girl and money goes to something good There is no solid evidence that everyone has sub, most ppl buy tokens with gold. This is big company , a lot ppl work here and I get this thing with mounts. Player who farm gold for token do not believe he would be so casual to spent credit on mount in store xD
Your sub money goes towards making more money to spend in improving the game. If more mounts means more money then they will and should go towards that.

Im referring to any videogame bandwagon that holds the gnats attention (albeit 2 seconds) just because it has their favourite 'Tuber or streamer making a video on it. Doesn’t have to be anything in particular. Whomflungdung on youtube or twitch or whatever could post a video saying “I found a blizzard conspiracy that they plan on changing gold to rice to farm more Thai subscriptions!!” and you can bet within 5 days every other channel would be saying the same thing in varying levels of hysteria, hoping for a view count bigger than others from their sheep willing to believe anything they are told. All someone has to do is even half of a paper trail and an internet hive mind will gobble it up quicker than a feral dog sniffing a hamburger. You are perfectly correct however, and like you, I really wish people would make their own opinion and not be a sheep to a video maker.
They could easily say all money from store mounts goes towards the development of the game. it just wouldn’t mean anything.
They would simply shuffle around there finances in such a way that the mount money goes to development, then less subscription money goes to development.
and money goes to something good
