"I don't want to do hard content but I want high level gear"

Raiders and high end pvper always had the very best gear lol, long before Ion took over. Remove the tinfoil hat.

I’ve played FFXIV far longer than that and I’ve seen people complaining about people getting gear, they just don’t do it on a forum or in-game, they do it on discord.

Because they’d get banned if they went off on casuals in-game or the forum.

It is where the share price was before they went into nosedive, the company is clearly poorly managed, there was no takeover bonus for shareholders, just a recouping of the losses from the high price of the stock.

From 2016 to 2020 Blizzards net revenues have dropped by over 21% thats accross all games and old chesnuts like WOW are doing worse.

In the same time period Activision revenues have increased.

So “biggest gaming deal in history” it might well be, but WOW is a spec on that balance sheet.

Just delete the spaces to see the data for yourself.

Wotlk was super popular because it was extremely accessible for all types of players.

SL is not.

Haha, no, definitely not.

I couldn’t even play my off-spec in Legion because of the absurd grind required, much less my alts. Content was locked off to me totally due to the artifact weapons and it not being class-wide and account-wide.

But there was far more content for players who didn’t raid or PvP to sink their teeth into, and it was far more engaging than anything Shadowlands has to offer.

if they dont do it on forums or in-game, and they just talk about it with their friends, doesnt matter… I never heard anyone and sure the vast majority doesnt mind the reward system

But that drop happened back when your precious boosting communities were allowed :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

You don’t hear about it because people get banned for saying such things in the game or on the forums. People would rather not get banned. So they keep it on discord.

not with that gap in ilvl… and casuals always had content to do to slowly get higher ilvl gear

and thats why Yoshi is the best game designer ever and why ffxiv is increasing its numbers massively while wow is decreasing…

What.

Some guy in vanilla that’s just got dungeon blues would get completely obliterated by someone in naxx gear in every aspect of the game.

you forget that I talked about WotLK right? but if it suits you, you can also talk about everquest

It is getting worse every single year.

And the reason is that as the game becomes more and more esport, more and more non-eport players are leaving.

Even in wotlk you completely obliterated people if you were using raiding gear vs their dungeon blues.

…and what does the Sub number comparison have to say about that?

Suffered from massive content droughts…we already know what that does to sub numbers because of WoD…yet PVP-only players often regard WoD as a high-water mark for WoW, because they are using a different metric fpr evaluating content.

you never played wotlk? what dungeons blues are you talking? I had raid gear and tier sets from raid, just bought with emblems that I got in dungeons…

Like what exactly ?

Transmog collecting ? Transmog was introduced in cata, and collecting it was a pain in the butt before the introduction of the mog collection system.

Pet battles ? Mop

World quests ? Legion

Crafting ? Still here

The games hasn’t change that much, you levelled and you geared yourself for raiding or pvp. Only difference know is that you have m+ which makes dungeon relevant throughout the expansion, and allows you to choose your difficulty which is very casually friendly.

Why is the game more esport now compared to before ? The AWC has been a thing since TBC my dude.

You could get full T9 gear just from heroic badges in WOTLK, and back then on my warrior I was still using two of those pieces for a set bonus in ICC.

Actually did you even play WOTLK? The last boss in every heroic dungeon dropped an epic not a blue, and that was right from the start.

I played wotlk.

Your “gear bought with emblems” were extremely sparse until ICC had been going on for quite some time and was inferior to actual raiding gear. I was pretty much fully decked in 277 gear on my mage back then, your emblem gear was nowhere close to that in terms of power.

how was inferior since it was raiding gear? It was normal raiding gear… I could also pug ICC pretty easy as a casual with my gear I got from dungeons currency…
