No, nasty means you can only make your argument by implying someone else is poor. You tried to belittle me to make your point. It’s unnecessary and rude.
None of your claim is credible when one of the most common complaints in wow is that the services are too expensive. Those are a fraction of the costs we were talking about.
People have different opinions but civility costs nothing.
There is no set defintion for pay to win. That is where half the problem stems. You can buy currency in nearly all games either unofficially or officially.
The difference for most is that the paying to win part would be I pay blizz for a CE token and get Cutting Edge. But that isn’t how the game works. The game works on the basis players can safely buy currency in order for others to play the game by just using gold. The sub cost is just being passed on at a premium.
You can try and spin it into whatever you like but Blizzard only sells cosmetics and currency. It does not sell wins.
8/8M run wont get you close to “full endgame gear” especially now when we have TF and WF.
what do you win by that tho? unless you’re in top tier raiding guild, what do you get from “having the shiniest gear in the game”?
you’ll pull high numbers in LFR? or you’ll do world quests faster?
I mean, I have no idea why you’re buying the game but if its to pay even more in the game to not actually play the game, then you’re doing it wrong. lmao
pretty much this. people with multiple chars do it to save time. and 180-250k gold isnt that much if you get to save A LOT of time.
I loved boosting when M+ in BfA came out tho. people were paying 2x token for each run. and it was mostly people who were too bad for +10s. now its mostly fresh 120s who want a fast gear and I cba.
aRe yOu pOoR oR sOmEtHiNg?
the thing is, you dont win anything by “paying”. because its an MMO.
sure you could call paying 5000 gold to someone so they give you food for your food achievement a winning, but most people dont play mmo to “win”.
It doesn’t, I’ve already explained it in my comment.
You can buy a boost by farming gold and without paying money as well. Also boost doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed either, boosters can very well scam you by taking your gold and kicking you out of the group and since boosting is classified as unsupported transaction by Blizzard, you won’t be getting your gold back, whether you’ve farmed it or got it via tokens. P2W means you pay money to Blizzard and you are guaranteed to receive your loot/CE/Arena rank etc. from them, which obviously isn’t the case.
Blizzard sells only cosmetics and tokens. Buying gold doesn’t mean “win” by any means and boosts definitely aren’t the only way to spend that gold. A player can use the gold he got via tokens for buying stuff from AH, boosts(and a boost doesn’t mean only raid or PvP either), mounts from vendors, buying guild bank, or just paying another player to dance for them. How someone spends their gold is their decision alone, and they can’t spend it in any way to make them “win” the game.
Buying wow tokens to get gold is not pay to win, why because that same token and gold is bought by players that did gold farms and to be honest number of BFA players would be much much lower if they had to pay their own money too play the game, as somebody who preordered BFA and race change with mission tables in legion and now bought 3 months with one sell of Eng mount, I can tell you that if i had to buy gamecard of 30 euros to play this game I would not do it because i live in banana country and 30 EU is a lot of money here and for game in state as it is now i would not buy it so despite that weird idea that somehow wow tokens are pay to win, even when you need to have somebody that will buy them in the game is wrong, its just a pure case of economy just it reaches out of the game especially now when you can buy other wow titles and game services and yesI plan to buy warcraft 3 remastered with wow tokens you can say that wow was always pay to win because there is always a people and guild that will sell raid clears gladiator boosts etc. Wow token was just made to crush black market of gold and they did it in best way possible
Buying gold with irl money, it questions the integrity of the game, Pay 2 Win.
The reason why you disagree is that you see it as someone buying a subscription and not as the other person buying gold.
And don’t get it twisted, it’s a smart move by Blizzard because it’s obviously easier for most to accept Pay 2 Win when the transaction is muddied, gg Blizzard.
Definition of pay to win is to get more power with money with buying suff in game that is not able to get by other players or takes too much time, so tell me do blizzard offers mythic gear for 10 bucks? No gold means nothing anyway in todays game, and if you have a problem with gold and you are broke most of the time and cant buy stuff you have to learn to earn gold.
I agree however that putting paid game services in the game that is subscription based and store mounts are bad practice, game is able to keep it self going with price of subscription so why add some stupid stuff like change name to need money is beyond me
WHAT are you talking about? You can buy a spot in a raid boost with gold, same for Mythic+, Arena and RBG. You can buy your way to all the endgame content the game has to offer and endgame gear.
You pay IRL cash to get a ingame currency, which gives you a huge advantage over other players who don’t buy gold or cannot afford to.
But that’s not pay to win, right? It would be pay 2 win only if the official cash shop offered Mythic raid gear? For crying out loud, wake up people.
This game is about gear, gear makes you stronger and borderline overpowered the higher ilvl it is in relation to PvE and PvP! Being able to speed up the process, skip the grind and directly pay for services which grants that gear is PAY TO WIN!
Yes you can buy stuff with gold, but is that pay to win no you would be able to buy staff boosts raid clears etc. with gold even without game token its a part of game economy not something blizzard created people still go to the sites that offer boost for IRL money and some youtubers are sponsored by this people, from the day one that was happening blizzard just killed 2 birds with one stone, introducing game tokens that would kill gold trading market and gold that people get for SELLING token to other players, they then use to get boost from the guild for amount of gold, guild keeps the gold and then use it on stuff they need for next raid tier from farmers , with that gold farmer will then buy new game token and whole process repeats it self, that way blizzard weaken need for 3rd party sites and most money go back to the community like gold.
No it didn’t, first of all, they still exist and now there is more of those sites, which simply offer their services for Gold as well (which is bought by players with IRL cash).
Activision Blizzard simply got in on the profit from the boost market, they didn’t solve anything.
Tell me something if you buy game token, and i buy that game token from you with my gold and use it for subscription for one month. Blizzard takes just few EU in that transaction right? I did not spend money for subscription you did it for me so overall amount of money blizzard gets from wow tokens is just a few $ or EU per token not a full amount of 20$ or so.
This is what I think about this entire subject , someone can buy for irl cash the tokens to sell them for the gold in the game. That person can after that buy boost in the game and get fully decked in the current mythic tier gear.
As geared like that will have the advantage in start against the players which don’t have that kind of gear in PvP , and also will get much easier into the groups than the average players which don’t have that item level and specific achievements in PvE and are unable to pay for the boosts.
If that player want to get boosted in mythic so he can crush in PvP he will do that by paying people IRL money anyway and he/she will still be able to crush you in pvp. With game token system at least community and other players will have some kind of benefits from that player getting boost. And if I can get benefits from rich lazy people that want to skip everything fun in the game well I will not rly complain.
