I find WoW's core gameplay loop boring these days

It’s just the general impression I get from raiders and M+ players. It’s a big time committment, requires quite a bit of preparation and focus, and most of all requires of you that you perform your core rotation over and over, and over and over…

On top of all that, the experience remains virtually unchanged for weeks or even months on end. It’s not like you get to explore some new landmass or view a bunch of cool story. It’s just… woo, I might get the weekly Vault upgrade I wanted, completely lifechanging.

It sounds awful in my view, which is why I have to assume people do it largely out of habit.

Of course, with there being so many players, there will be exceptions.

m+ is like a ranked gameplay in other games so it doesn’t need to change a lot(it has many problems but this isn’t in top 5) the problem is there isn’t much to do at this point if you’re not raiding or pushing keys

If this is how you feel why not take a break?

I can foresee the future for you:

11.1 new island, world quest, this time they reset daily and rep grind just called renown now. New 8 boss raid. Proffesions stays like in df because blizz employee likes it.

11.2 bain quest , new raid 3 boss, heriloom gear upgrade to lvl 80. Old bfa raids getting nerfed so they are solable. Tw dgs added, which will be shadowlands.

11.3 blizzcon new expansion release, return of the kitty, bain quest continue, because blizz employee loves this cow. New raid 8 boss.

Blizzard i foresee you obvious plan, hire me so i can fire the ceo and the game director.

wow story is whatever, there not a single character of worth…they are all dead or badly “retired”, so that was never why would anyone play the game.
questing is also bad…

  1. talk to one char
  2. do 3 quests for them, kill 1 leader of the camp , kill 10 , gather 15 etc…they all the same.
  3. turn in, get whatever rewards.
    also not fun.
best fun i had in this game was when my guild wasnt dead and i raided regularly and did muh pluh…and thats where the fun is, making friends and having fun with them, and ignoring the story and do everything else coz you have to

If they brought back daily’s again it’s the same as putting handcuffs on players and telling them how to play their game.

Being forced to do something I don’t want to do bores me the most.

Yes, I only play for cool-looking rewards these days. I don’t find myself enjoying M+ and raiding currently, bc they just exhaust me without it feeling that challenging outside of me simply not knowing a mechanic. I’d enjoy wow more, if raiding was split into 4 very epic boss fights at different locations in the world rather than one full instanced raid

Exploring requires you to move move and move, therefor it must be repetitive and boring, only done out of habit? That’s basically what you’re saying, just about raid and M+.

Spoken like someone who’s never pushed beyound a nice easy comfort zone.

I really dont care about the gear rewards… its more the rush of overcoming a challenge as a group, its an awesome experience.

Just running around looking at the artwork blizzard designed sounds equally as boring to me… so clearly your just doing it out of habit.

I dont normally go to the forums and say bs like “People who do X content clearly only does it out of habbit like brushing ones teeth”

I dont like the content you do, but that doesnt say anything about you or me… all it says is i dont enjoy it.

And you know what, thats fine, you get to enjoy what ever content you enjoy, and no one should belittle you or the content you enjoy. Just like you shouldnt about content other people enjoy.

They almost did 2 weeks after launch, if you didnt noticed. But i think they will because non elite players has nothing to do.

I feel you. I haven’t done PvP since Cataclysm(PvP in DF is in a good spot right now) and I haven’t raided since Legion and DF killed my enjoyment from M+. So the only thing left for me is Story and Open world. The moment I stop liking reputation farm and collecting cosmetics WoW will be finished for me. Blizzard are downgrading the game little by little.
At the moment I am spending more time in gw2 than in WoW.

Except it’s not. When you’re exploring, you see something new around every bend. When you do instanced content, you see the same thing all the time.

Especially nowadays when instanced dungeons tend to be shorter, and way fewer are released

I don’t need the mogs for the raids man. I need them from the raids for everything else besides boss fights.

I’m finding DF an improvement in this regard. I do my chores on Wednesday (Aiding weekly quest, World Boss, Feast, Siege, Obsidian Key quest and maybe a Hunt). Then the rest of the week I can mount farm, level alts (my Worgen has been idling in an inn for years but finally is seeing some action).

DF isn’t perfect, the weekly events aren’t very engaging (some can be done by just standing there), the Renowns are a little grindy (not sure I’ll make it to 30 on some of them), Professions don’t look fun nor casual friendly.

Do what anyone else with more than one brain cell does and just stop playing. You WOW lot are a weird bunch. You all whinge and moan, cry and complain, yet still keep playing whilst incessantly typing on the forums.

Nope. If i did find it boring i’d play something else not waste my time on the forums or even worse keep playing

I dislocated my shoulder last week was trying m+ grind. I spend more than 6 hours a day in front of computer and i strongly recommend dont do this. Thankfully i have no problems with my shoulder but still cannot play wow efficiently, it will take time. Never play more than 45 minutes and give break for at least 20 minutes.

Forums are for discussing the game, and this is a discussion about the game.

Agree somewhat.

I was just re doing the Shadowlands Night Fae campaign mainly to get the transmog set for my Night Elf Druid.

As a well equipped level 70 any combat was minimal and trivial while doing that.

I was surprised though how much I was enjoying the story and immersion - the zone and music, the Night Fae idea, all the Tyrande and Elune stuff.

I enjoyed it a lot more than actual competitive combat situations in Dragonflight with the same toon.

Buy a mmo mouse and fix posture. This could fix it  But yes: Blizzard needs to make the game more human
