I just logged in, flied for some seconds, got disconnected and now im banned for hacking?

Uh what hack? What is going on? Is using an addon that shows treasures on WoD map hacking the game? I dont understand what Ive done hehe.
Edit: now I can play again. What is this, Im scared 0.0’
I use an addon to track rares and treasures, is that bannable?

Exact same thing just happened to me. Perma banned out of nowhere and absolutely no clue why. And 5 minutes later another mail that the ban was removed. I had a heart attack since I’ve put an ungodly amount of time into this game and can’t remember ever doing anything wrong.

I would also like to know what triggered this. I have absolutely no idea and if there’s some addon that did, I really would like to know so I can delete it.

Addons won’t get you banned, because Blizzard can disable any addons they don’t like by revoking the API functions they use.
Third party programs, have the potential to get you banned, especially if they automate any aspect of gameplay or change system files or memory.
Blizzard will never discuss any specific reasons for a ban, as they believe that will make it easier for people to work out how to evade detection. As such, they probably won’t ever tell you what triggered this.

Just happened to me mate, account closed for same reasons then around 10mins later got another email saying it was an error…I think we deserve at least an explanation… I have never cheated in any game, I wouldn’t know how to!.. I normally log in for 2 to 3 hours a night with my brother and we spend most of the time, farming gathering resources to play the auction house, is this why I was flagged?

It sounds like there was an error. But blizzard with their usual communication skills, haven’t said anything.
Yep same happened to me, my heart sank for a moment when I checked my emails this morning. I’m not even sure what I could have done to trigger it.
It seems like their anti cheat system is broken or just not working as they intended it to, I remember a few months back friends of mine also got banned and then swiftly unbanned just like OP is mentioning.

Apologies to anyone who had a scare, and indeed a recent action targeted some accounts incorrectly and was overturned again as soon as the mistake was noticed.
Anyone affected would have received a follow-up email already explaining this, and please rest assured that having been actioned in error doesn’t mean you have done anything wrong, nor will it affect you negatively in any way in the future.
One thing to note is if you had a subscription set up, you may need to re-add it in order to resume automatic billing.

No it is not. Addons can only do what the the API let’s them do.

One question on this I have about 5 months remaining on my now cancelled sub. If I re add at this time do I get charged the 6 months now or at the time of renewal?
You should not get charged more game time until your current game time expires (in 5 months time) BUT you may get a temporary charge on your card as part of the authorisation process. However that charge would be refunded automatically (usually within a working day, depending on the bank).
i got the same mail and after that that you made a mistake, can i at least know what the mistake was since i dont want this to happen to me again, why was it triggered?
They won’t tell you because:
a) You don’t need to know, all you need to know is that it was resolved.
b) Knowing would make it easier to work out how to defeat their cheat detection systems.
Makes you wonder what criteria was used to flag accounts in the first place, mine wasn’t flagged.
Sounds like they are testing new autobanning software.
Contact and see if it can be frozen - pretty sure they used to do that. Most subs are auto roll so you will need to cancel from my experience.
