I have an issue with DF's crafting changes

Yeah, it will certainly be p2w, but it won’t be like gambling.
There is a Rng aspect, but it’s very controlled rng. Also, alot of reagents for crafts are gonna be soulbound, and the new leveling system for crafts outside of profession levels will require a ressource called knowledge

You can become such a skilled crafter that it won’t be a gamble at some point.
So that can be countered; but it will still require materials of course; that’s a given.
I’m just very disappointed that you cannot reliably make the best equipment at least for yourself after all the work you put into the profession - but that you CAN do that for a high end content player. That just seems off to me.

How so? Its not a guarantee that you will get the max lvl item and bad luck protection? Aint that like feeding a slot mashine to eventually pay out?

no. the 2 things should be separate.

Ah… so if enough money is spent. Still feel a bit iffy about this.

Read it on your own instead annoying me now. Telling me it’s A, when I tell you it’s B without you even having read the post of Blizzard

At lower profession skill levels, it will be a gamble - or downright impossible even.
At the highest profession skill levels and using the best quality reagents, it will no longer be a gamble (or there’s just a very, very high chance).

What if the raid will be extremely easy? Also, you will still be able to craft them for others

I didnt ask you in the first place, you felt the need to correct me… by not actually correcting me and now you repeat yourself… you inserted yourself into this conversation with me.

The difficulty doesn’t matter. It’s about ‘having to raid’.

They want players to be able to say: I’m a crafter. THIS is what I do in World of Warcraft. But if you choose to do that, then you can only craft the best of the best for the top high end content players. Not for yourself. THAT is the issue I have with this system.

but isnt the thing to be easy. i only put my foot on raid just to watch the story. its an activity i dont like. im a crafter, mogger and rep harvester. i could play a lfr but just because has the lfr button. not for the difficulty.

but anyways. its early to say. we’ll see that when the game will be released.

Isn’t it dropping in normal mode? Sorry, that you’re gonna have to invest time in a raid to get the best gear in the game

That’s still raiding. Some people don’t want to raid. They simply don’t like it.

Sorry that you think it’s still okay for raiders to be treated as if they’re something special. Because they’re not. They just like THAT content; that is literally all. Your kind of thinking is so 2004.

Sorry that you think that dedicated crafter players should be nothing more than servants to the game’s high end content elite.

Those mats from the raid historically have always been available to purchase on the AH so should not be that much of problem. And in modern WoW they most likely will drop from the LFR instance too.

It will require BoP stuff, they’ve said that.

Maybe. Bit too early to tell, but it most likely won’t be the best quality of that drop. And in the new system, that matters. A lot.

Still you can put work orders in and provide the mats.

That’s my point: Getting nice crafted stuff is for high end content players only.
What’s in it for the crafter? A fee? Woopdeedoo.

Maybe dedicated crafters can use their skills to leverage a place in a boosting run (hey, take me along and I’ll craft something for you).
I just personally don’t like this focus on ONE AGAIN the elite.

But there are consequences of doing it this way, we see that even now how raid participation fell when M+ can give the same ilvl. How this can effect M+ when crafting will become another option let alone raiding.

I dont pay much attention to either but it matters to some. But i do think in the end, being able to deck out a char with near BiS items with gold alone shouldnt be a thing at all.

Not even when you’ve spent months leveling up your crafting? Making sure you got the very highest quality reagents, getting the very best profession gear, spending your points to create the perfect build to craft that one awesome item. There’s going to be timed profession quests that get you certain required reagents too. Even then? It’s not ‘just gold’ you’re spending.

And being decked out in them is hyperbole. That’s not what I’m talking about - and I believe it’s impossible too… I think I remember hearing there’s a max amount of crafted gear you can wear.

Thats the crafter… not the buyer.
