I hope gearscore comes back in WOTLK classic

The thing is.

In live wotlk back in the day. Terrible pugs were common enough for it to become popular to release parodies meming on the situations

These things omly rly hit pug enviroments. If you dont like their standards join a guild.

Gearscore Worstscore.

Honestly the thing is if you say nothing then you’re just a regular player at this point, nobody really says anything in dungeons unless there is something to complain about.

Gearscore is a pretty good system especially in later expansions, like wotlk, where gear is pretty much universally better the high ilvl it has. The main flaw is valuing trinkets equally and not set bonuses or enchants. All of these are quite easily fixed by attributing an approximation in value of each.

In my time playing BFA I played almost exclusively mythic dungeons + world content and I never had any issues with “rio”. To be honest I don’t even know how it truly works, I didn’t ever get involved with it. If you see something that the community has created that is toxic then excercise your own damn freedom of choice and don’t participate.

You can create your own groups. It’s not that hard.

Or you can just do the easy thing of inspecting someone else and tell for your self if their gear is decent or not seeing as the stats prios get easier as well. Gearscore wasnt really used past wrath anyways seeing as we got things like reforging that made GS even more useless than it already was.

The people who think GS is a good tool are the same type of people that think that item levels are a good tool to tell how good a person is (atleast the once that go blindly with what something like GS says). I rather be inspected by someone who have to put in a slight bit of brain power into it than have to deal with the people putting on pieces that they know are worse than others they have just to be able to have a higher GS

It is surprisingly hard in wrath to find an item that is budgeted for your spec and is worse at higher ilevel. You’d have to go over hit cap basically or get to some miniscule diminishing return nitpicking. It did happen that people would equip drops for other classes to reach 187 ilevel avg to get into RDF, but once you are in the territory of 200 ilvl+ where it’s 10 man drops and emblem of heroism vendor, it is almost universal that higher ilevel > better geared.
Yes, inspecting in person is better, but all other things being equal, it is all but guaranteed that a player with higher ilvl will perform better. There is a saying, exceptions confirm a rule. There will be one guy who bought items from prebis list and has no clue, but also 20 others who know what they are doing with gearing and perform.

Getting over the soft cap for rogues for example is rather easy in wrath, same as getting your expertise cap is easy (thats just a example that I know have a easy time wasting stats though might be harder for most classes).

Almost universal yes, but lets take a paladin for example, they have 3 different specs, lets say you have a paladin that geared as prot or holy in dungeons because its easier to get a group as those specs but they want to raid as their ret spec. That player could easily fool someone who just trusts GS into believe they have heroic dungeon gear at least while for ret just having normal dungeon gear or leveling greens and blues. GS is a way to blunt tool to be used in cases where a class can have multiple specs.

That is true that if everything else is equal and they wear pieces that is apropriet for their spec it should translate to better performance but people will always try to cheat a system if they can.

And for those 20 others GS will be fine but that 1 person who dont know what they are doing will get invited into pugs and wont get told what they were doing wrong because there will be the lazy pug leader who dont inspect and who dont care that they have 1 or 2 people who under preform at a level that might even hold them back when they could have had someone with a lower ilvl that is geared as they should be instead.

Edit: I would also like to remind you that PvP gear is really easy to get in wrath and it dose have ilvls that are basicly the same as raiding gear but with stats that are way worse for most classes in pve such as to much stam and resilience, they might be worth while to get started in Naxx but when people join ICC hc pugs in pvp gear it will be such a massive difference in output its not even funny.

Please let me join your dungeon spam  sadly im still an Orc. Nicolay for president. :yum:

I am starting to see red whenever someone says “make your own group” … thats absolutely stupid argument and everyone knows it … you can be as friendly as you want, when everyone around you is toxic minmaxer they will simply ignore you …

Aaaaanyway …

Rio was another garbage GS-like system, that created only more toxicity, without actually doing what it was intended to … “mark” players …
Turning it off, which was another can of worms completely, basically told everyone “hiding rio means low rio” …

And it was the same situation like its now on TBC and same as it will be on wotlk … unpopular class wont find group for higher M+ keys, thus cant get better gear (or better rio), so they cant get invited for higher m+ … repeat until bobby gets new yacht …
