I just tried the "make your own group"

Tbf, i’ve always posted on my main and have never experienced any harassment or stalking or ppl shaming me over my logs (which are most of the time REALLY BAD :joy:) or hunting me down in game. I do see some ppl drag up logs and score and such, but then its usually because the other part is claiming stuff that isnt real. I do get that not everyone wants to use their main to post with, and i never dismiss anyones opinion just cause i cant look up their experience. Just wanted to say that posting on main isnt as bad as people say it is.

i have yet to see someone harrasin anyone in game by forums

worst case scenario people will find your grey logs. and who cares. i have plenty of grey logs still doing +20 just fine this season while barely playing the game - same in wolk - absolutely no problem to find 11/12 hc runs

bdw - can cata classic come faster pls :stuck_out_tongue: im so done with DF and kinda bored with wolk already :P:P

Better safe than sorry, This is my reason for doing it.

Nobody cares.

I’ve had one or 3 anonymous mails over the years.

Its your prerogative but its a weak sauce excuse. Closer to the truth is likely that you can make rubbish assertions with less scrutiny.

Then stop asking why i am not posting on the main if ”Nobody cares”

Clearly some do, and i’m just not allowed to give my reasoning?

Like what do you even want?

As in nobody cares enough to “harrass” you ingame over stuff you post here…

Oh, this guy really do care. He is a famous stalker here, and probably loses his mind, when someone posts from an untrackable alt. Dunno why he is doing it, but probably some health issues.

My only criteria is if you’re gonna talk about how stuff works (for example high keys or CE raiding etc.) you better be able to prove that you at least do it, otherwise you’re just spewing nonsense. (This only counts for if they’re talking about what it’s like doing it).

Wow. Never thought forum was so dangerous.

The problem is that blizzard has embraced the scoring system. If youre a pug player making your own groups you get stuck in a spiral where you cant find groups because your score is too low and you cant get your score up because your groups dont fill because no one wants to join low groups.

Blizzard has completely caved in to the parsing/dps meter/tier list slave mindset and altered the game to fit that playerbase.

Nah thats not going to fix it.
People need to understand tanking and healing is more responsible than dps. 1 bad dps can be fixed by 2 above average dps. For tanking and healing it isnt that easy (bad heals can be somewhat fixed by doing mechanics properly lowering healing output)

Multiple routes per dungeon net the same amount of % or are safer with pugs. Yet i get a boatload of criticism if i dont take a “mdi like” route or anything on raider . Io or something a dps saw on x streamers twitch channel.

However, anytime i pug keys my % is on point and we can time it no matter what.

Or the remarks i get when i dont pull pack x into a boss. Because more efficient.
But when i do another pull that is similar to such a pull but not known to the dps i am the stupid tank who dont know how to play.

Overall i truly enjoyed tanking always, but the last few years its harder for me to keep up.

If i dont know the perfect route on day 1 of a new season, i have to endure remarks on it.
Even if i tell in advance. And 99% of the time i did my “homework” in prepping for routes.

If i join as dps and say: first time in m+ for this dungeon, most of the time you get pointers or tips.

But none for tanks or healers.

We dont need more tanks and healers, we got 6 of each, yet they are still the lowest played roles. And i believe it is mostly because of the above points above anything else.

  1. You don’t need to know perfect route. The perfect route is whatever gets job done and tank feels comfortable with it. Since your task is to set pace and direction for the run, first order of business is for you to be relaxed, confident about the route cause you did it already and it felt good.

  2. You need to ± communicate on a basic level with your healer, check their mana, CDs are useful as well. That is all you need to get 2.7k rio and all portals.

  3. As long as you are just pugging up to +20s for great vault, opinions of DPS on YOUR and healers job don’t matter and in my experience, even if they clap their mouths they usually stick to the end because they seem to not like waiting for somebody to utilize them.
Their only purpose in M+ is to press buttons and do damage. They are not there to have opinions. :slightly_smiling_face:

Exactly ! One of the problems is that players stress at the idea of having the responsibility of healing or tanking when it is easy! If you know the basic mechanics of each pack/boss (which you are supposed to know in dps), and you know your class, you have no problem timing a key between 10 and 13. Once you are sufficiently good stuff and experienced you can climb much higher. And you have to stop thinking that a healer has to put out 50k dps, you’re not in a pro team!

Yet thats not the reality.

I run the routes that i think work for the class i play (i change up routes around cds of myself / dps and heal) and that bring in the %.
For every 3 runs, there is atleast 2 runs with people complaining. For not “better optimizing” their 1 min cooldown for a big pull (even tho, nobody else had cds ready)

I track healer mana and communicate about it with the healer, to then have replies like: go go go by the dps, because they think a healer can heal without mana.

And they have opinions and they voice them. I can put that aside but i notice that a few years ago i could play for hours with people or pugs like that. Nowadays i quit after a few runs because it isnt enjoyable.

That behaviour is killing the willingness of people to tank and heal. And the very same people complain nobody wants to tank and heal.

You can literally give all classes a tank spec, and a healer spec, but it wont solve the lack of healers and tanks.
If the behaviour doesnt change.

Yeah pugging as tank is a bit dreading. You can’t do well. I had my tries on Atal +20 to get the portal and it didn’t matter what i pulled first, it was never good. When you go rezan you have to pull left 2 packs, when you pull 2 packs left you have to go rezan first. When you pull saurids on rezan you get “??? wtf”, when you don’t pull saurids on rezan you get “sauridss tank???”.

It is job of a DPS to plan CDs and everything on the run. I was DPS for 15 years so I know how that works. You make the route, you can share MDT link with them as heads up, but it is you who gets to decide. Because if you are not there, then guess what - they will sit in Valdrakken and complain on the forums. Good DPSer will always have answer to the situation.

Think i passed that when i first started tanking in TBC, was scared alot for tanking SSC with my new guild after spending a good solid 2 months preparing my warrior to tank.

Ever since m+ got introduced i try to either play all tanks up to 2k rating or higher. Which isnt as high as you can go.
But the lack of time and interest in portals / a bit higher ilvl stops me from pushing beyond 2k / 2100 score.

Id rather play multiple classes during seasons. During DF however i have been diversifying my efforts.
I played my paladin as holy to 2k and my rogue to 2k aswell instead of playing 2 tanks during those seasons.

Merely because of the remarks i got when getting to 2k rating on a tank the first time. It was never good enough and i didnt want to take that again. So i chose other jobs instead. Taking away another tank player for runs that needed one. Because i was always waiting on tanks on my other roles while making groups

Nah, a proper tank who wants the most out of cooldowns plans around it aswell with his routes.

No big pulls just before a boss where you might need cds to survive trash and have none for boss, or use dps cds to kill said trash, to then have no cooldowns on boss at all.

I always try to plan around that, still certain dps arent using their cooldowns enough (2x 3 min cooldowns in a 24 min run? Come on)

Same goes for my own cooldowns, in terms of survival (shield wall for example) or dps cds.
I want them on different points on my route. So if a dps thinks he can pull 10 more mobs 1 pull earlier than i would do, i dont have cds for my big pull that i planned in my route.

I always say:

Tank == boss of route.

I only point out obvious problems, like when the route includes skips and we have no rogue or soothe or similar mechanics.

Other than that, its the tanks job to do the route. And I am in no position to tell him what to do.

Thats my mantra.

We need way more people with this mantra.
