I love follower dungeons

I was training the bots for M+ and Delves.

Because in the dungeon, only tank pulls and everyone is okay with fighting one mob till it die

I tried a run. Was cool. The followers suggested skips, and the tank actually did some LOS pulls. I foresee this being a really cool thing while levelling, maybe not for XP but at least for gear and quests.

I believe this also gives Blizzard the opportunity to have more zone-quests that can be completed in dungeons. That means that a level 66 DPS doesn’t have to wait 90 minutes in the queue for a specific normal dungeon which may or may not fall apart.

… and more treasures/secrets in dungeons. I remember hating that some Shadowlands dungeons had treasure objectives in them. Trying to do them was a pain when everyone else was rushing.

I just did one on my level 61 mage. It went very smoothly and I had no issues. I think people must be over pulling and trying the “go go go” mentality rather than taking it one pack at at time. Maybe it is more difficult if you are tanking and leading yourself.

I didn’t have time today but gonna try them with a tank friend tomorrow on a baby healer, we both haven’t seen the dungeons yet so will no doubt be fun, and messy! (Altho he’s smarter than me  )

Or a quest to kill an optional, a little out of the way boss. Especially if it’s for a profession.

I hopped on my level 60 havent-been-touched-since-shadowlands priest, specced disc and gave it a whirl. I know the followers wait when I wait, but when I sat down to drink, the tank actually ran back to me.

I think this feature will be a significant improvement on the leveling experience.

My follower group kept pulling patrols & when i thought i had finally cleared them all the tank runs off to pull more mobs from another area.

Not sure which is faster

  • instantly get into the dungeon, but bots want to clean tve entire path to the boss rather than sneaking past a couple of patrols
  • wait 30ish minutes for a group of real players & steam roll through the dungeon

I have to try out when I can. haha :joy:

Dont even assume it. Its not

I did one as a tank. I mounted up to pull big, but the NPCs just went HAM on the first pack I ran into. 0/10

But hey, you get free mage food in there.

Lol… Nah I will never even try this thing.

Yeah you see plenty of people, even in this post, saying basically “I tried to do big pulls, it didn’t go well”. Those people just don’t understand that it’s not the goal of the follower dungeons at all, and so this feature is not for them.

The goal here is not to be a real “speedrun mentality” dungeon but with AIs instead of players. No, the goal is to please all those (and they are a lot) that want to have a slower pace (and maybe less toxic) experience in dungeon.

If you want to speedrun the xp bar and that’s all what matter, again I don’t think it’s for you. But if you want to enjoy the dungeon at your own pace, maybe testing spec/roles you’re afraid to test with people, or just want to take your time to discover a dungeon, this seems a very good way to do it.

Personally, I just like to see how many people said in this post : “I would have never played this spec/role in dungeon by fear of the other players reactions, but I’m finally going to try it thanks to the follower dungeons”. The feature is for those players.

This is genuinely sad.

I went for tank classes in FFXIV mainly for fashion reasons. Despite never tanking in any game. I don’t remember a single time having people insult me because I was slow/new, or me being a jerk when the healer was new. I learned and did raids aswell, sometimes tanking for massive groups of people it was nice.

I will never be able to do that in WoW. All the points mentioned by you OP are WoW community’s core issues. With systems that only enhanced and enabled the gogogo mentality and people being dumb.

I like the follower dungeons. Go at my own pace. No rush mentality.
I would like an heroic and mythic versions as well. Leaving M+ to actual 5 players.
Even if means train the followers before moving to next version.

I think its an amazing feature to try out new specs without the aggro of being berated for making mistakes

I just did a follower dungeon to see what it is all about on my latest (10th) alt druid. For players who want to enjoy toxic free adventures it is amazing. I gave the pala tank the lead  Mage put table before start, healer went to eat… the way the npc move and behave is absolute “life like” and definitely not “Bot like”.
Tank navigated us just like a good tank should, used LOS, used “sneak along the walls” etc.
421 ilvl loot was not too bad for a new maxed toon plus all the fun. Healer actually dispelled, mage did not just tunnel but did his share of the work
Plus… i finally realised what a certain dungeon was all about as tank did not chain mobs to boss while rest of us try to stay alive and catch up!
For solo players or more casual players it is definitely great, thanks blizz. I myself will do it on my latest druid until i actually know what all the dungeons were about which i only experienced with mainly chaining tanks and tunneling mages

The timing for this feature is kinda off. I mean you can solo all normal dungeons so whats the point here? It will be nice once the new expansion releases, but right now it is dead content for me personally.

Glad you like it tho, maybe it will be a motivation for people to tank and heal dungeons.

Agree its a great feature and this is version 1.0. Hoping it evolves as one of the permanent fixtures. Not only good for trying new speccs but for new UI set ups, weak auras, frames and all that.

Don’t forget that there are always new players starting wow, for them especially it will be of a big help.
I might even try to heal on one of my druids, nobody will get mad at me if i fail nobody will make gibing comments, who knows, maybe I am a born healer instead of boomie
