I love follower dungeons

To be able to run dungeons without the usual toxic is just amazing. I do hope they will do this for raids and heroics/mytics too, i love runnig it, just wont do it with others, the level of toxic in dungeons/raids/mytics is just over the top. glad i have acces to dungeons again. Although the loot and exp could be better balanced, 4 dungeons for half a lvl is to steep imo

The thing is, not only do you lose 20% xp if you have 4 of them with you but you also lose the random dungeon xp bonus. If you’re trying to level like this you won’t have a good time. I hope they take it as feedback that people do actually want to level like this. Also bosses like Telash Greywing in the azure vault are annoying if you’re not the tank(and i swapped off tanking just to test that exactly) as the bots simply won’t move. I’d have to stay in an aoe to damage him or taunt him myself.

Best answer yet.

I do not see the point of trying to break the AI and then complain when it actually works.

I tried it and I liked it a lot. Was actually fun doing Neltharus and actually experiencing the dungeon instead of smashing through it.

The only problem is that it’s very pointless for leveling 60-70. I got 10% into 65 from one dungeon.

Well do we know the drop rate of certain dungeon weapons if you run with followers
or with other players?
did 1 normal nokhud with my hunter thats level 63
bow from maruuk/teera didnt drop just gold
did halls of infusion with my level 70 ret alt for a quest tsunami had no 2h sword
its still rng then?

Yes. Same as you run with actual humans.

I tried the Nokhud Offensive dungeon,I took my tank, which is well geared, just to see what the fuss was about. I wasn’t impressed.
Healer that I had to heal
Rogue was as stealthy as a brick
Hunter that ninja pulled every bloody mob in the immediate area, then ran off to find more.
Final DPS who was so slow he tended to turn up once the fights had ended.

I did get a laugh out of it I suppose, but for learning mechanics etc… I don’t think they’re a great feature.

oh thank you

whose idea was this? yeah lets have NPC in a MMO instead of playing with people, further ruining retail from the original vision

So you’re saying this because you have the OP’s best interest at heart?

Having a pleasant experience which is more conducive to learning, doesn’t replicate someone yelling at the tank to pull faster.

Plus you are missing the point of follower dungeon, which is— you don’t have to do normal dungeons if you don’t want to.

I wrote an answer but then decided to do this dungeon on my pala tank first, just to confirm what I already knew at the reading of your post. Here is my experience :

I didn’t have to heal my healer.
I didn’t really care if my rogue was stealthy or not.
The 2 packs that my group pulled were patrols that I wrongly decided to ignore in the first place.
I had my mage a bit buggy before the first boss of the dungeon, doing some “back and forth” movement. It didn’t had any incidence on my run.

My group didn’t go down 50% of their hp bar except on the first boss. Why ? Because doing 4 times this dungeon with players rushing through didn’t allow me to learn that you had to use the ballista on the first boss to stop the aoe. I learnt it this time.

So again I have to disagree with you, follower dungeons is a great way to learn mechanics.

Overall, it just tell me what I already knew reading your post. You went into the dungeon, rushed through doing massive packs and skips, and when things obviously failed, you blamed it on the AIs instead of yourself.

Well, I have a good news for you : you won’t have to do it again, follower dungeons were not created to please the gogogo mentality, they were in fact creating for all the players that don’t want to play with player like this and want instead to have a more sereine experience. It was created for those that don’t want to have a tank blasting through the dungeon without ever looking behind if they are able to follow, and blaming them when they can’t.

That doesn’t mean that follower dungeons are bad like you said, it means that follower dungeons are bad for your way of playing dungeons. But as you can see with all the previous message, a lot of players are enjoying them.

Guys, I am trying them in few moments, wish me luck.

I hope I will be good enough for the AI players. I will try to test them in THE FIRE! like demi pulls, cc splitting and hexa-pulls and so on.

Stay TUNED

It can still give new players the idea what to do over the usual tank mass pulling and some people not knowing what to do or interrupt. Every time i tried to bring a friend to the game they were overwhelmed or disappointed with the whole rush rush mentality during leveling.

So you are the problem then not the game

How i am the problem? You seem on edge

Because you don’t play the game the way he decided you have to play it.

A good example of why the wow community is toxic.

So for my testing - for what it should probably represent and serve, it is really not bad!

  1. Transmogs - the AI players had really, really good tmogs. Hats off to that.

  2. Experience 1 tank was me:
Actually, really good - we went to algethar, I pulled first room full up to the boss therefore at least 30 mobs in single pull. Surprisingly the bots started to really dish out and actually survived before I managed to stabilize the pull.

Classic pulls like singles, doubles or semi - it was okay, nothing out of ordinary.

Bosses - the bots actually did mechanics and very carefully.

Minus point here for me is that you can’t really lead the group as a tank. You can tell them to leave pulling to you, but that’s it. No option for basic controls like position, DPS hold off, DPS burst etc. That would be useful for new tanks to learn managing the group.

  1. Experience 2 was me as DPS:
Now this was worse one - so the positives:
  • AI tank was really steady in pulls and despite them being very conservative on pulling, the run didn’t feel clunky or anything. Just steady, decent tempo for the run.
  • Gathering phase and threat build up top tier - I tried to pull for the tank etc. No problem, AI tank was able to avenger shield pack, taunt running mog and position themselves to stabilize the group.

However negatives - I strongly believe that AI tank is undertuned AF. She has 503 000 HP. No way that is happening in real-world situation with players. I tried to pull Brackenhide whole swamp to the right in single pull as DPS. They cooked her, sadly. But I would say it is severe undertuning of the tank, also considering the fact that tanking is not calm and steady activity - it is heavily reactional which we ofc can’t demand from AI. So at least 700-750k HP for her, because it was really good otherwise.

Try offline games, you are going to have a blast

I used the AI dungeons during leveling, they had like 50 and 70k health which is basically the bare minimum to queue the dungeons normally. I believe they’re made to be min ilvl and on purpose

Yeah, because people obviously can’t like mmorpgs/dungeons and dislike toxicity at the same time, right ?
