I miss when people played this game for fun

People still play for “fun” cause the term itself is extremely subjective.
It can be fun for some to chase their m+ score and compete with other people and etc. Fun is not just limited to “smelling flowers”.

Boosters and gold sellers exists since Vanilla.
Ppl play for flex since Vanilla.
This is how mmorpg always was.

Well yeah lol.

A game cant make every game mode vertically progression while a disparity in difficulty exists lol

It simply dont realistically work, as most players with that mindset would simply not do the harder content without said rewards being done.

Hence why the games that focus on all content awarding end game armour generally are lacking in verticle grind.

WoW kinda showed the cracks when attempting to do this, u end up with ur progressive players quite litterally farming every inch of the game, and no thats not stating weather it shojld have or shouldnt have been removed.

But a game encouraging uptoo 6-8hours a day played is quite irresponsible of a company imho knowing there feeding a hard addiction when doing this

Long term, WoW would lose the vast majority of raiders/m+ players in such on a model because its simply easier and more convienent if the rewards are avaliable in open world content / easier content, blizzard would have to account for this.

But also account for a large part of casual audiences arent interestinf in playjng the same game continously, nor want to fall behind either hence why gw2 / eso broke the rules in virtacle grind.

Your never gonna get 1 mmorpg to do everything
