That channel stresses me out to the point where I enter a capital on an unsuspecting alt, perceive the flood and try to type myself out in a panic, resulting in all kinds of interesting varieties on ‘leave’. I should macro it
I think one reason many people literaly hate boosters aint actualy becuse they use a boost, but becuse many of them act like they are elite and relay toxic towards others, not all but some are.
but this is to be expected in an mmo, what specialy do in one way or the other gather for hardcore players, what WoW does a lot realy, be it mythic raiding, or Mythic keys, human nature is made to be competitive, what meens one smal mistake from anyone may end up in someone beeing toxic, reasons can varie from pretty much a transmog to someone dying or them self doing something silly.
this is why I have said that having high end content is ok, but how it is implented is not
Agreed, very hard to get full enjoyment out of the game now.
Wait what? You can remove the FOMO element and still have it require effort. Mage tower atm rly doesn’t have a reason to not unlock the Artefact appearances.
I miss those times too.
I was fortunate enough to play wow on and off since vanilla.
Back then people didn’t optimize the fun out of everything.
Yep, I miss times when people had fun with what the game offered instead of complaining about a lack of chores.
Thats because there was nothing to optimise. You just did a dungeon and when you were done that was it… Nothing.
i feel like the game is too structured,
there should be an element of surprise, a sudden " OH i just found a secret cave" or stumbling upon some RANDOMLY GENERATED puzzle or dungeon
there is no shock or exploration anymore, its a solved game
there isnt any magic , no reason to leave a town or city. its quite honestly boring
Theres tons of that stuff around. People just look at it all on wowhead or type in the co-ords on an addon to fly there then complain that theres no magic…
how would a RANDOMLY generated puzzle or dungeon be somethign they could " solve" or search online …if its random ?
I meant tons of exploration etc, sorry I didn’t specifically discount RANDOMLY GENERATED things.
There’s games where profession mats and “boe” items are tied to such things but they’re called sandboxes. WoW’s overall design doesn’t allow for such content to work the way you’d expect. If they try it would feel like a grind instead of a discovery.
To be fair if players catch a whiff of something new they rush to youtube or wowhead to find a guide on how to do it most efficiently so they don’t fall behind others. To me personally content is unenjoyable if it’s trivial difficulty. My brain just shuts off because I know there’s nothing in this cave/zone that poses an unexpected threat to me.
Wanna bet if blizzard gets RANDOM GENERATED CONTENT in the game that there will be someone smart enough to create a WA For it that can predict it?
It doesn’t matter what type of content it would be. If devs will put something meaningful as a reward (like player power progression), this content would be instantly considered as a CHORE, and will be heavily flamed by vocal minority saying: “WE’RE FORCED TO DO IT, REMOVE IT”.
Being a member of Scared of Dungeons, my experience is this…join the aforementioned community if you want good fun and zero toxicity for keys. Hell, even i have started doing 15-17 keys and i never usually go above 10. My guild drag me along on boost runs sometimes which is good fun also.
TLDR is - its a 90/10 split in favour of community runs in my personal experience. It may not be same for everyone
You claim to be a classic player.
Seasons are just a name for tiers which have always been in game.
But they imply they dont have fun, and obsess over numbers which isnt a trend its just people on the forum proclaimjng their opinons are shared.
The fact is:
For over a decade, other western companies have tried to out do WoW.
Weve seen mmorpgs focus on open world as a end game pillar.
Weve seen mmorpgs remove verticle grind.
Weve seen games flatten the gear to be accessible by all content solo or multiplayer.
And beleive it or not. No game running this has managed it, the only competitor against WoW realistically is ffxiv, another verticle progressive game that focuses its end game gear treadmill in raiding.
If open world mmorpgs more focused on engaging with the world, the story, with focuses on open world options and more was rated higher then WoWs / ffxivs gear treadmill through higher content.
WoW would be dead by now. The games who tried to change this wouldnt be dying right now. Theres 0 statistical evidence this game wojld even have a audience if they seriously implemented it.
WoW players have ignored every launch of a mmorpg for WoW, for a reason lol.
And before someone says “but their bad games”. Thatd imply you think WoW would do it better, there are reasons u think that, and tbose reasons were apart of the package in terms of developing their games in such directions.
So they cling to a game which didnt make those decisions, but somehow want they to drive for the same direction as those games lol
I wouldn’t call WoW a good game. It’s just always there for you and provides a quick sense of pleasure. Like a pack of cigarettes.
I’ve played games I’d describe as incredible pieces of art. They just don’t provide infinite hours of playtime like WoW does. But I’d still only call WoW mediocre.
Fact is, you’re not going to find any content in WoW that players consider epic. Everything is a compromise so it appeals to the largest possible audience. It’s a product, not a game.
Nah.
I played Guild Wars 1.
I played Warhammer Online.
I started Aion at EU launch with a couple of friends but they quit before we hit even lvl 50 and thus I stopped playing as well.
I still play FFXIV but it has a massively limited amount of time you can put into the game if you’re only interested in dungeons and so forth.
I started playing Rift when it launched and kept at it until like halfway through storm legion.
I started playing wildstar on launch, I got several chars to max level but raiding as the core game just put me off. It was a fun game gameplay-wise but if you didn’t raid you had no way to progress.
I started playing TERA on launch and I only stopped because the game was passed on to gameforge.
I started playing GW2 on launch but the lack of vertical progress put me off after playing it for a while.
I tried Elyon but that game was a massive failure, TERA died for that
edit: Oh, I forgot SWTOR. It was okayish but not something I’d play without friends and my friends ditched it.
I play for fun.
working towards that elusive achievment,
unlocking a transmog,
Joining raids and dubgeons with friends.
If you’re not having fun then stop playing.
