I pay 1g for a stack of lvl55 crystal water and so should other people

and then just dont buff easy as that. when i was lvling i also didnt buff i just told them im short on mana and costs too much

If you’re farming, yes you’re right. I wouldnt stop to buff int either. But if Im passing by in Org I dont see the issue

Who cares.
It only costs you a tad of mana, something you’ll get back in no time idling.
If you’re that worried about money, just go do another one of your aoe farm runs.

I can’t believe the most advantaged gold making class actually justifies paying for something free.

It’s not much about the mana, it’s that I have to stop cast and trade. I can make almost 1g per minute, so that time is that much worth to me

If you are too busy to stop to conjure food for stranger, then don’t stop and conjure food for stranger.
If you are not in a rush and are happy to conjure food for stranger, then stop and conjure food for stranger.

Why does gold even need to come into the equation?

I don’t find anything wrong with selling conjured water. It’s not worth buying but if people do then sure, sell it. Personally I would never pay for consumables that vanish on logout but to each their own.

What is weird is suggesting that players ought to always pay for it. Because not all mages are wanting to sell the water. Like as a Rogue I never ask for gold to open lockboxes. I just either do it for free when I have the time or don’t when I don’t have the time. No one should feel obligated to pay me since I am not asking to be paid.

In fact I dont stop, generally. I only stop if the request for food or water already include the promise of a tip

The fishing tournament isn’t out yet mate

Oh poor you.
You keep insisting this rule applies only outside groups/dungeons.
Everyone’s time is valuable, no matter the situation.
How about the warlock who could be making himself a coffee but instead has to summon 36 people to molten core?
What about all the shards he had to collect even before joining?

It’s ridiculous to ask money for these services.

Even if people offer money for tanking, i will still refuse to take it.

Im still gonna make water for free when ppl ask…because i can…

Again, it’s different in a group because I have a direct interest in it. If I’m in a group I’ll freely craft the tood because it speeds up the run which is in my own interest.

Why should I care about the farming time of a complete stranger?

So why should I care about the time of a strange mage who says they are losing precious farming time to make me food?

Well you’re the one asking. I can simply ignore your request. Why shouldn’t I?

Actually you know Zalanji you should be asking us all for money on this thread for each post you make. You are using up your valuable “1-gold-per-minute” time ingame by typing replies to us in the forum.

It takes 6 seconds to conjure a stack of water, lets round it up to 10 with trading, and about 10 more seconds to gain the mana back, that’s 20 seconds of the mage’s time.
Considering mages can usually farm about 60 gold/hour, the opportunity cost of these 20 seconds spent is 33 silver and 33 copper.

So that’s just the bare minimum you should pay for a stack of lvl 55 water in order for mage not to waste time. Of course, if you also wanna be nice and tip them for their service, 1 gold per stack sounds reasonable.

PS: and yes, this post isn’t 100% serious. But still, pay the mages for water unless you’re in a dungeon, don’t be a dick.

Im not playing now, and Im posting because I want, not because you’re paying me to do so

I ask all who insult mages different way.
What should i do for example if every single person in orgrimmar or whole world ask me for water and food ( not in group ), just strangers hm?
Make water and food to everyone ? Only because they want it ? Spend my all time in game making water and food for free ?
If you tank some dungeon, or healing, you are doing that for yourself, you choose to play that class / spec, so mages play dps class / spec to dps, not making whole day water and food to strangers…
Like many mages say, i dont have problem to do water and food and portals in group / raid for free, but why should i do it for free for strangers if they whisp me somewhere, speacially when they whisp me this way -“Hey bro, make my water”, no chance then if you cant even ask nicelly.

It’s not rude to not pay someone who isn’t asking to be paid. Time only has a gold value to it if is time that you would have otherwise spent earning gold. For example if I’m just semi-afk in org there is no gold cost associated with my time if I do something for someone.

The point isn’t much to pay mages regardless, but simply to not feel offended if they ignore or deny your request unless you promise a reasonable tip
