If not, why do you care about the direction any of their games takes?
If Blizzard didn’t make Hearthstone or Overwatch, do you think the development money would have been spent on WoW… or lined the shareholders pockets? I’d bet the latter…
Apart from the graphics and some animations, how is retail better?
It is true that they lost the “wow” feeling, but how to retain it, by selling old stuff to old customers or by making new awesome stuff.

But classic is mostly awesome. I want WoW and other MMORPGs to be like classic.
If classic had better graphics and a few other tweaks, it would reach the awesomeness limit.
Most game studios use newer game engines than the one WoW uses… if you really understand that level of tech., you’ll know why WoW is ‘lost’ on that level; and what it would take to get newer players happier playing WoW…
I do not think that they are out of money and I have a good idea of what level of tech their up to, It feels to me like they have some internal problem…
WoW Classic is some variant of loss-leader; it cost Acti-Blizz money to get it released & we’re* getting it free…

because i enjoy slow paced games, that put thinking ahead over fast paced games that do more require reaction. Its just that simple.
I would be perfectly content with wow being turn based combat.
Because most of us loved the game in MoP and in Legion, but blizzard removed the fun things and didn’t gave us anything fun so we left. Thats why we hate it

Its because people like to try to control or influence the actions of other people, some people just aren’t happy until they feel that they’ve altered someone else’s perspective to suit their own narrative.
Still i dont feel the need to go on and on and on about my ex to everyone, i find something better to do.
I understand that ppl are unhappy with bfa, no problem there. I just dont see the point in useless hatethreads with no feedback about how to improve. Or the constant «classic is soooo much better» threads. Go play classic then, its there for u to play it. Or the «classic is crap» topics. Dont play it then, no one is forcing u. And if u hate all versions wow have to offer, go find another game to try. Feedback is ok, useless troll posts are getting quite tedious by now.

If I was a company, an old company that sold old garbage that is outdated instead of new fresh products, yes, some customer says I want your old garbage because it has memories…
I think you’re being a bit dramatic. Classic isn’t replacing Retail and I seriously doubt it ever could. Blizzard would have to work really hard to intentionally make a bad expansion for that to happen.
People like Retail and Classic for different reasons. Even those who like both recognise that they don’t have the same appeal.
Classic is just another Blizzard game. That’s it.
I’m sure I speak for many Classic players when I say that I play plenty of modern games. It just so happens Retail WoW isn’t one of them.
I wish more people understood that both are different games and that people play whatever version for their own reasons and tastes. These threads are unnecessary and just fuel senseless “fights”.
There is nothing wrong with nostalgia and especially our generation seems to cling to it. WoW classic is nothing special in this regard. On the Nintendo Switch you can play old NES games, emulators for older consoles are very popular, and last year the Raspberry computer with all the retro games was a hot theme.
And I can’t count how many I know, that have a gameboy emulator on their phone.
Exactly. Who cares what are the reasons someone likes and plays whatever? It doesn’t impact anyone but themselves and if people enjoy something, let them enjoy it. This is why I don’t get all these threads of “X version is better and here are my totally not subjective points of why”.
I feel like these threads are just like in kindergarden when kids say that “my X is better than yours” just for a sense of superiority. Like there’s a reason to feel superior because you do X thing or play Y game.
Or they just try to cash in that private servers and pirates were taking from them. Smart move to cash that in, no ?
