I will change for the alliance until Midnight

A fair point. But this is a videogame and peace is boring.
Without a faction war, and with the current direction Blizzard is going, the Horde has no reason at all to exist.

Might as well make the orcs, belves, etc part of the alliance.

No one wants this. We want war and excitement.
The horde has little resources and are barely surviving.

Historically, what did cultures with little resources did? they pillage others.

I understand you are a peace loving person and this reflects in game. But the game is not entertaining like this. You are playing in the protagonist faction. We are not.
We need representation. War is our purpose.

The old horde was destroyed? Introduce a new Warchief that wants to rebuild it to its former glory.
Congratz, you have a new villain and we have a new leader.

Just my opinion. You are, of course, allowed to have your own.

EDIT: Aion was amazing lorewise btw. It remains to this day my favourite MMORPG lore. Loved being in the Asmodian side. Blizzard could learn from that game in making both factions equally appealing in their own way.

The alliance should have never had their victory back in Warcraft 2. The veterans of the past should be honored not condemmed. That was the biggest mistake Blizzard ever designed. Making the Horde weaker and less numerous or cool on purpose. That is why I can’t play a faction of sad losers without purpose.

That is not the point. The good thing they do is showing these factions as equals something Warcraft never did.

Is much more diverse then those two sides we have here. Romulans, Federation, Klingons and the Dominion is at least four different groups.

I agree. We need our own strong protagonists, cinematics and epic battles.

No, not we
You
Maybe others
But just as much I belive want to have nothing to do wars with no point or reason
I know I don’t - be it IC or OOC why would I want to have a war with noble Tauren and smug Elves? They literally did nothign wrong. The Goblins if anyone are neutral and peace is just as good for business as war (Ferengi Rules of Acquisition 35th) and the Vulpera basically shown to work well with everyone and made the Artisan Consurtium
I would erradicate the Undead tho within a heartbeat
And on the other hand we HAVE war and excitement just the enemy are outside factors

Again since the Horde not been destroyed nor destroyed the Alliance kinda proves they are equal - hilarious I know since the Horde should be a small village worth of population by now but still shown to have considerable manpower, resurces and means to start and fight wars and survive every defeat. If anyone the Alliance is not the equal…

Diverse, yes, but you just as easly could divide WoW in to four different - and probably more logical groups (like Night Elves + Tauren, the twin kingdoms of Suramar and Quel Thalas, Alliance of Dwarves, Gnomes, Humans and that handfull of Draenei and Orcish Clans who have a good relationship with the natural Troll Empire of Zandalar so bunch of Trolls there and the also natural Vulpera and Goblins)
The point is, war is not necesarily to make things work
Wargames to fulfill the PvP wishes but in WoW since it exist the enemy is not the other faction but someone “NPC” like the Balaur of AION (just not one race but cultists, undead, legion, and whatever the villain of the week that time)

When i said “we” i meant most horde players. Because lets face it: Alliance has all the cool races. Worgen, goat people, dwarves, fire dwarves, etc.

So if people (new players mostly) choose the Horde, its for a reason. Its because they want to be playing in the red team AGAINST the blue team. Its because, for one reason or another, they think the alliance is lame.

The outside forces (PVE) are not controlled by players and are, therefor, much less interesting.

I would play as one of the spider people in TWW in a heartbeat.

the alliance is superior in every way possible Blizzard made that very clear.

even without the factions we always have war.

I started as Asmodian and later changed to Elyos. And your player is actually the main protagonist as reincarnation of the Arch Daeva with the empyrian lords barley showing up and staying a mystery.

The same with the Asmodian side protagonist btw. You speak with Muninn, Verdandi,Skuld and Urd(see what they did there) and they write a prophecy in which you are the saviour of your faction.

Aion is beautifully written for both sides. Though i could never stand the Elyos x).

Though, Aion doesn’t count. Its a Korean MMO. Most eastern games are much more dramatic and intense then western.

Again probably a hyperbole, but just as I don’t know, it is impossible me to know what a player want, the same true for you
Cool is very reltive, Trolls are cool, Tauren are cool ,Elves are cool, noble shamanisitc green or brown Orcs are cool, even - I’m sure - many consider the crafty goblins cool… or the undead
And you managed to bag the Vulpera
The Alliance is: Humans, stocky small humans (we fondly call Dwarves), really small humans (Gnomes) Humans who sometimes trun in to wolves and really fat humans (Kul Trians), the saving grace are the space goats and the Tesco-Elves but they are more trouble than worth and if anyone, really anyone would have right to complain their favorite race, the Kaldore were done dirty are the Night Elven palyers because oooooh boy what have they done from the cool race from WC3 is terrible
See?
Tastes differ, cool is realitve

Yes
But probably not the reason you think
But honestly no way to know

Or because they are forced to be in Team Red - I mean I know a bunch of Vulpera and Elven palyers who despise and loathe the Team Red but HAVE to be there

As you pointed out, the important is the player behind the monitor not the AI or the skin it wears
But still PvP Wargames should satisfy this need to defeat a living opponet with your giant bullman toon
But since I don’t really PvP this is just my guess and could be wrong
But what I know is the fact WoW is not revolves around PvP players or the PvP mode

Yes, I know
But be Elyos or be Asmodian the fact remains Tiamat and Israphel gives you the middle finger your side is never really achive anything and at the end of the day you even manage to work together to survive the Balaur

I guess i have to give you that. I have no way of knowing what most the playerbase wants.
I just expected the horde to be a menacing force. Pillaging villages and warring against the behemoth that is the Alliance.

Maybe Blizzard will throw us a bone and allow us the be the spider people (unlikely though. Imagine animating 4 to 6 arms)

Just to comment on one of your replies, my first toon was actually alliance, because i LOVE Worgen. But the red team was too cool to pass. So i just made an undead elf thingy. (dark ranger questline)

Maybe Blizzard can find a way to satisfy both types of players. I hope anyway. Because me and a few others are quite unhappy with what the Horde became.

I am sceptical on Midnight. it plays out at the blood elf zones but Metzen said it will be elf content not specifiying any groups. We have to wait til summer it seems.

Let hope they find a way
Also like in SW:ToR removing what race could join what faction would be a very intersting and I think reshuffle greatly and would revitalize the Game
I know many players who would play Worgen but not fond of the rest of the Alliance, like Taurens who would be Alliance players but can’t
It would be interesting to see such a reshufled world where the palyers actually able to play what and where they want

A Worgen could join the horde for any number of reasons. I can also see the peace loving Tauren preferring the welcoming enviorment of the alliance.

Not a terrible idea.

humans are the most played race in swtor but the most played class is sith warriors. And lore wise the community agrees the Imperial agent has the best class story.

If a faction war is the only reason for a faction to exist, then maybe we are better off without that faction.

Yet more reason to be seeking peace and not a war. Wars tend to starve resources even further.

Yes I agree.

Thus my previous point. Without the war, Blizzard is literally killing the Horde. Since all the heroes in new expansions are alliance.

A faction war IS the only reason for a game to have 2 factions. Why else would you?

I appreciate your opinions though.

Lol, stop playing a victim.
I have no issues ‘raiding my own capital’.

I am NOT an alliance fanatic. I like both factions.

In fact; I hope we get to fight Turalyon one day.

Then you’re weird. Which was abundantly clear already, honestly.

No they aren’t.

Then remove the stupid factions. From the very start of WoW the factions have made 0 sense, same as the “wars” that followed. The factions remove pretty much all the agency from the races. What I would like to see is no factions, just lose alliances between the races and from there we could see more dynamic and interesting conflicts. I’m all so sure that all of those Tauren druids were really on board with burning a world tree.

I respectfully disagree. The faction war was, for me and a lot of players, a selling point for WoW. Otherwise its just another MMORPG like guild wars 2. Which got boring fast.

But like i said to the person above you, maybe Blizzard will find away to appease both opinions. IDK

(I agree that the Tauren make little sense on the Horde. No argument here)

Funny thing about that. Location aside, we have had 2 warchiefs as raid bosses on the Horde side and 1 high king and 1 archmage as raid bosses on Alliance side. All of which survived their encounters.
