This game would be amazing if alts could be played same way as main; the same way as switching spec’s
i really want to play my lock and monk but it be overwhelming to catch up with them with everything. (rep, essences, recipes, necklevel etc)

If you cant play more than 2 hours/day it’s impossible to manage more than 1 char.
If you cant play more than 2 hours a day you shouldnt play more than 1
Who decides that? You?. Everyone plays how they want, and if classes were not so dull, I’m sure people would crave alts less.
Well sure he can play all the alts he wants with his 2 hours a day. He just cant cry about not being able to optimize them 100%. It seems ppl want 1 of each class with bis essence and gear, they just dont want to invest the time.
Agree on that. But I do think it could a bit more alt friendly, at least until classes are fixed. As it stand now I cannot play 1 class for more than a week or two that’s how slow and boring they all are.
I honestly just miss the days where ppl had 1 main and 1 maybe 2 alts. Nowaday everyone just rerolls everytime theres a new patch. You basically face the same comps over and over in arena cus everyone plays fotm comps. Theres no diversity.
In legion as pure pvp player (i was doing some m+ because gear was superior compared to pvp) i could jump into arena with low geared char. It was great, now i don’t only need pve items to play pvp but also essences that require a lot of time to farm.
Same for pve. Before you do your first m+10 (i don’t even consider mythic raiding because it require to abandom life) you need weeks of gear farming and if you want to actually push you need tons of gold for flasks and potions
U mean like when everyone rerolled to Rogue and Mage in TBC for 2s? Or to DK in WOTLK?
Except that is not true. Everyone didnt just lvl a rogue or mage from 0-70 and geared it. Some did sure, but not even close to what happens now. And Dks in wotlk is different, the class was brand new ofc it was popular.
If essences were made BoA I would feel much better about farming them and probably spend more time farming the rank 3s. Like it is now you just become apathetic about them.
But why do u need them BOA? Most of rank 2 and 3 essences don’t require huge time investment from alts. Rank 4 (aka cosmetic rank) requires a lot of work, but it doesn’t impact gameplay.
8.2 for me is alt patch.
Thats my lock, dinged him 6 days ago and its my best geared alt. 8.2 gave us so many catch up mechanics for alts.
What about people that play 3 hours a day? why should their fun be limited because someone else wants to finish things faster?
What about people that like to play a ton in the weekends?
How about people wanting to start a new adventure on a new character, what happens to them?
Why has 8.2 murdered your alts, i am playing with all 15 of my chars, and while its boring like hell 8.2 hasnt murdered my alts
I have like 4 alts. Ain’t nuthin’ stopping me. Yeah, grinding all that HoA power, essences, Honorbound, etc is hell, but it’s not impossible. So you CAN play alts. You just don’t want to.
if only there were some sorts of mechanics ingame to kinda catch up…
i don’t know, like getting more AP, or the WQ increasing their rewards, or even some gear that you could upgrade with some form of currency.

Essences should have never been anything but account wide.
No. “Killing alts” would mean it’s physically impossible to make and level a new character. There are technically no barriers preventing you from doing so.
Having said that, I agree that having to do the essences as well as HoA is pretty overboard. It would be nice if they were account-wide.
