So I just hit 30 with my mage and picked Ice Block talent. I remember it was widely used to prevent fall damage in AB for example. So I was surprised that when I used it to jump of the cliff, it froze me mid-air and I only started falling once Ice Block ends. Was it working like this in Vanilla? When was it changed?
I havent played mage in a while so my memory might be wrong but I recal the falling damage beeing from where you fall after Ice Block ends.
Did you use it close to the ground and still got full falling damage?
Exactly, if I remember well you have to use it very close to the ground to avoid fall damage.
I’ll try blinking, that’s a good trick.
Ok thanks guys, my memory failed me then. For some reason I thought that I would land as an ice block taking no damage. Will try!
Hehe i remember mages doing that all the time to not take damage.
One time, one even did it while holding the flag…
Oh the memories.
Mages also have a slowfall spell… as long as you are stocked with light feathers.
Try to throw an iceblock from a mountain IRL and check the results.
Do it before just before you land bro or blink before you land too or use slow fall . Cheers
