Here is my idea how i would solve the trade chat spamming. Make in-game bulletin boards.
Every major city will have one near an in, where people able to post their advertises. Limit will be 1 advertise /account. 1 advertise last for 24 hours.
People who want to buy boost, simple click on the board and browse the offers.
With this, advertisers no longer need to spam the chat, and people who not interested in boosting, no longer go mad and ignore/report advertisers 0-24.
Ofc posting contets which againts the ToS (real money trading, racism, website links, ect), should be reported.
This is a good idea but it wonât please the crowd that supports the idea these boosters should have trade chat just for themselves (because thatâs what it is right now letâs be real)
How will the board be ordered? Most recent first? Randomly? In either case, whoever has the most accounts, wins. Itâll be as spammy as trade, except harder to filter, and dominated by RMT adverts.
Donât think thatâs a good solution, to be honest.
(Besides, thereâs a fairly simple solution to the spam problem: BadBoy gets rid of 90% of it. No more need to ignore/report advertisers, you can all get back to Thunderfury and Dirge spamming.)
The addon is suggested in pretty much every thread posted about it. Itâs suggested on Trade itself, whenever someone complains there. Itâs super easy to find on Curse.
Anyone who wants to make their Trade better, should be able to easily find it. If they donât, they arenât that bothered with the spam, to be frank. It takes much less time and effort to look for an addon - and find one - than to report even a dozen spammers.
Maybe they should try to solve the problem first, and look for an addon to help, before creating yet another thread. Or, dunno, use the search function of the forum.
That we agree on. But if I have to choose between using an addon to filter trade to a usable state, or waiting for someone else to fix it for me, Iâll go with the addon in a heartbeat.
Yes, I shouldnât need it. Like I should not need an ad blocker to browse the web. Yet, here we are. I prefer a useful trade over some reason for not using addons to improve your QoL.
But how could you annoy people who couldnât care less about your service if you use a convenient space designed to keep them sane ?
No can do my good sir, now take your â20% off Nzoth curve boostâ coupon and stop bothering the playerbase, we need as much of their attention as possible to advertise for the marketingâs new idea : pet battle boosts !
Only real problem is that Blizz will never do it cause that will be a PR nightmare. Creating a special platform for the boosters? Blizzard supports boostingWoW is pay to win. Buy a token and get boosted. Even Blizzard says so! With offering an official platform.
Not to mention that if any boosters scam or perform badly for the boostee? Who will take responsibility? Well Blizzard of course. If they offered an official platform and even âendorsed itâ then they must also take responsibility for it.
So do you think Blizz wants to take this âhot potatoâ?
They use the major channels to get a bigger audiance. As the boostis buy tokens for boosts its fine by blizz.
And as long as its fine they will use the big audiance channel. No one would bother to look actively on bulletin boards.
Sadly i have understood that i havent used the trade chatt in years as everything i need can be found and filtered in the auction house or the lfg. Wished wow would be more social again - i envy the classic Communitys for that.
I have left the /1 /2 and /3.
The other day some of the advertisers started to use the /s and the /yell channelâŠ
Problem fixed, there is no saving the general/trade chats of WoW they are so spammed its amazing and no one is acutally using them for anything productive anyway so just leave them and let spammers spam them all they want.
As far as boosts goes I promise you that Blizzard really donât want to give them the ability to stick something, Blizzard doesnt completely forbid people boosting for gold but they donât like it either.
I think it would only work if trade was removed all together and it became the message board system instead. However I think it would be a royal mess to navigate unless it had some kind of listings to it.
I think there is a high risk it will push all advertisers into other channels instead though.
However I honestly canât see them dividing up trades into you may advertise and you may not.
How about different kind of aproach:
Ban advertising and trading of boosts in chat channels. Put boosts in the AH exclusively. Separate boost sale department where people can sell and buy boosts. AH cut would be small gold sink as well. Not sure how it would work technically but it would allow boost selling in controlled environment and clear trade channel for itâs intended use: Dirge spam.
