Classic Hardcore has been indeed official! but we have little ideas how it will turn out except that of course Perma-Death and able to duel to the death.
So fellow hardcore enjoyers, what would be a perfect hardcore realm for you?
Just in case, perhaps blizzard stumble upon this post and see what really people wants.
You can fill a list of the following, feel free to copy it paste it:
Iâm not a HC player (though I may roll a toon or two on the HC server), but ideally, Blizz could add irreversible options at character creator as to how hardcore you want your run to be. E.g. you could choose from checkboxes not to be able to group, not to be able to use mail, not to be able to trade etc.
That been said, Aggrend had said that they wonât have a very extensive ruleset as it is first and foremost a community thing so I donât realistically expect them to add much more than permadeath (and of course the already confirmed /makgora and ghost-upon-death). Weâll find out soon enough
Unavoidable griefing (oh, sorry couldnât get the heal throughâŚ)
Too much pressure on already unpopular roles resulting in next to no instance/raid runs outside of friends groups
Losing characters to disconnects, crashes and server problems with no way to appeal
A weird meta if no additional rules are enforced
HC addon still being used by the ahemâŚââcoreââ resulting in a split and feuding community right off the bat
Boring/non-existent endgame for 90%+ of people after hitting 60
Server will ultimately end as an uber toxic sub 500 pop nolife/neetbux/nolife streamer thing
These are not my fears btw. because I wonât play it anyway. This is the likely reality HC server players will face.
I think you misunderstand HC. Is not mainly dungeon-based.
DCâs have always been a big killer - nothing new.
What meta? People chose class they know/play best. And in case weird meta would happen, what yould be problem whe HC realm filled with Hunters and Warlocks?
HC addon is real danger - but like many guilds exist on normal servers, different challenges still co-exists no probs.
So few really hit 60 - and Endgame is not goal of HC.
if you fear those strange words and not play HC server anyway, why donât you just shut up and let HC players play way they want?
I tried hardcore, but I stopped because it didnât feel like Classic.
Not being able to buy/sell mats takes out the economy
Not being able to group removes the community spirit & is super annoying waiting around for named NPC tags + queuing
Not being able to do dungeons for that extra upgrade you wanted, some characters being lucky, others in the gutter
So, with that in mind, Iâd like all those restrictions removed. Some may not agree, thatâs fine, but without those features the already very limited content you can do was squeezed so thinly it felt awful.
The only problem I have is the âauthenticityâ of the challenge.
When you can have level 30 stats at lvl 1 with all lvl 1 items enchanted, fiery wep, full bags, full consumables, max profs etc basically at lvl 1 somewhat feels like HC can ultimately become pay to win at some point (obviously not at the start), but really I donât even think itâll be busy enough for it to matter a few months in so really what does it even matter - at least my perspective is HC is a timesink until Wotlk is over and a real fresh hits, which I am pretty confident they wanna wait until Wotlk dies down until releasing that.
