Paladins are just Priests with a sword and plate armor.
The only difference between those two classes is that one reads book whereas the other goes to the gym.

Paladin reads books and go to gym. Priests do nothing
The intention was that Forsaken Priests would be Shadow.
Holy Forsaken makes no sense lorewise, but they can’t exactly make a race only able to choose one spec of a class.
They could make Forsaken Paladins, or even Gnome Paladins if they wanted to.
We have Tauren Paladins, which they pulled out of their hoop and still make no sense even if they try and write it into lore.
In 2005 we joked about Tauren and Troll Paladins, yet here we are…
We’re not even asking the IMPORTANT questions here… Why can’t every race be everything? (Except Demonhunters)
Same with Warlocks and Demon Hunters.
A Paladin is not as simple as a Priest/Warrior hybrid, and should never be given to a race simply because said race have both Priest and Warrior classes.
A Paladin needs a lore behind it. It makes sense to give Paladins to a new Lightborne Undead race seeking towards the Alliance given how many paladins that have fallen in battle and become Undead.
Meanwhile, it wont make sense to let Gnomes be Paladins because there are no lore or anything supporting this combination unless we go all out and let all races have all classes.
Not quite. A priests merely channels the Light. A paladin is a conduit for the Light. 'Tis not just a priest who took up armour and went melee.
I think in the case of Priests and Paladins, then it’s not a foregone conclusion that one equals the other. Paladins are actively trained, so the given race needs to have made the decision to train Priests as Paladins. And I think it’s perfectly reasonable if some races haven’t made the decision to do that. Story-wise it’s perfectly reasonable that all the races don’t reason the same.
I think it makes a lot of sense that Gnomes have the ability to become Priests, and have perhaps made the choice not to become Paladins, because of…height concerns.
It doesn’t have to be the same for all races. It shouldn’t be.
A paladin is a fanatic.
A priest is uuuu sparklz.
Paladin is the somewhat comfy class you start to play cause WC3 was awesome, but drop later cause you want to be an actual dps and not a wooden boy
to Rompuche:
i dont think we need more paladins, atm all reasonable options are covered.
( except one obvious which i am done being salty over )
Problem is paladin dps is no longer paladin, more like flashy warrior. A warrior in drag, I suppose. Fabulous and divine, but doesn’t feel like a paladin anymore.
Needs more spells.
atm with final verdict leggo and final reckoning its;
a lil burst - 1 min - big burst with wings - repeat.
but visually its quite well made, the final verdict gives beautiful visual effect of huge lights hammer dropping on your foe
pala has enough spells and atm is unnaturally close to pure dps in terms of pvp power, but it will inevitably get butchered as all previous expansion launches demonstrate.
Why does it make sense for gnomes to be warrior then?
Paladins are the work horses for the Light.
Priests get to have fun messing with the Shadow.
It does not.
And yet, gnomes can dual wield 2H weapons and smash people with sheer strength.
Can’t be Paladins though!
they have expansive mind trait (bonus IQ) so they dont want to be bad dps class!
Just because stupid gnomes were made to be warriors and stuff, even if they are basically a head with hands and feet does not meat you have to kill every fantasy out there. Undead paladins make no sense, neither do void elf ones.
than undead melees should break apart from first sword clash due to their naked rotten bones, no?
That’s exactly how the paladin order was established.
